Swim Party Of the Year!!! I have three children who ages are stair-stepped (8,11,12) with my son birthday in February (too cold) and my youngest daughter in July (too hot). I had to come up
with something with-in budget as well as the title holder of the "Coolest Party Ever." I planned a swimming party in August so that all three children could have a special day
for just for them.
I rented the community pool for about $60.00 and used their tables, tents, and chairs. Our community pool have waterslides and water-rings for the lazy river. Each child invited six of their best friends which gave an even number of 18. I then went to the local dollar store and bought all beach themed toys and party items. The colors chosen for the party were aquatic colors like purple, yellow, orange, turquoise, etc. The invitations were made from my computer and I scanned a really cool casual picture of my kids together on neon orange paper, and gave the date and location of the party. At the bottom were really cool, but lifesaving rules and pool etiquette. The party started at 1:00pm and ended at 5:00pm. (Pool Hours) I ordered three sub-sandwiches with all the toppings on the side. I bought lots of chips (variety) and juice boxes. As for snacks, I made candy bowls with mm's and skittles, and in the other bowl was animal crackers and gummi bears.(The kids loved the animal crackers and gummi bears.)While the kids were swimming, we took action pictures of them in mid air diving off of the boards and doing tricks. We played with water guns and water balloons. Near the end of the party (1 hour before)we instructed the kids to get dressed and come back for the cutting of the cake. We let all three kids cut the cake with their hands (of course they smeared it each other with it.) The rest of the cake was served by the official cake cutter (DAD). We handed out goodie bags with a water toy for their next trip to the pool. Our kids have now retained the title of Coolest Party Ever!!!! \*Since we had a digital camera, we printed pictures from the party and allowed our kids to make a scrap book to take to school the next week.
