Hi both of my daughter's have birthdays in July so we decided to have a pool party! My youngest daughter is 10 and my oldest is 12, the people that were invited to the pool party were between the ages of 10 and 14. We had to come up with ideas for the party that weren't to babyish for the 14 year olds but weren't to mature for the 10 year olds. Another thing that we wanted to consider was how much scheduled play the kids wanted.  Invintations: We really had a tough time choosing invintations that were suitable for all of the ages invited to the party, but what we decided on was that invintations that were going to go out to girls were shell lockets and inside we had a piece of cloth shaped like a sun that said all of the important party information, I thought these were very cute! For the invintations that were going out to the boys we gave them all a cloth frisbee with all of the party information writeen on it and told them to bring the frisbees to the party, I wanted to go with beachballs but my oldest daughter thought they were to babyish. Together the kids invited 30 people! Decorations: For the party we bought 3 of those lights that go under the water in the pool and shine all different colors to make the water look like a disco. The kids all thought that this was really cool even the older kids! We also bought sparkly fish decorations to decorate the pool fence. And of course we had baloons everywhere! What we bought for the party: We bought 5 floationg noodles for the kids to use in the pool, 5 large floationg tubes, 5 floating loungers,a whale float, an alligator float, a lobster float, a dragon float, a jetski float, an octopus float that fits 4 people, a water see saw that could fit 4 people(kids LOVED this), a shark float, a dolphin float, a floationg volleyball net, 6 regular sided beach balls, 2 4 foot beach balls, wiffle ball bat, wiffle balls, 4 kick balls, 2 volleyballs, 2 bumper boats (yes bumper boats!), 10 different sized sqruit guns for the younger kids, racketball set, hula hoops for the kids to play with and use for bases for kickball/wiffle ball,we already had a water slide and thats it!  Food:For food we had pizza strips, hamburgers, hotdogs, choclate chip cookies, m&m cookies, all different kinds of chips, cupcakes and an ice cream birthday cake. For drinks we had tinis" half of them frozen and half not we also had virgin strawberry and lemon daiquires. Activities: We had several activities planned for the kids to do in case we felt that they were getting bored. One thing that we did that the kids loved was chicken fight competitions this really gave the older kids a chance to play with the younger kids instead of everybody doing there own thing. It worked out well because the older kids would be able to lift the younger kids on there shoulders easliy. Another thing that we did was riding the bull in the pool. My husband decorated a large chlorine (4 feet long) bucket to look like a bull it had paws horns a face and everything. The kids took turns seeing how long they could sit on the bull for without tipping off. While sitting on the bull the kids had styrofoam strapped to there feet to help them balance on the pool. We had other activities planned such as bobbing for apples and some other games but we found that the kids were never bored and just wanted to hang around with there friends we had volleyball in and out of the pool trampalion basketball in and out of the pool kickball and wiffle ball for the kids to do but they stayed in the pool the whole time. We also had 4 cd's that my daughter burnt playing. She watched the billboard.com songs every week to see what to play at her party. Both of my kids really enjoyed this party and we thought that it was age appropriare for everyone. we can;t wait to throw another one next year!"
