My daughter really wanted a Camp Rock party once she watched the movie and she just turned 8.
We decided to have the pool at my mamas b/c she has a huge treehouse/slide/swing & a pool= free entertainment. I bought one pack of Camp Rock party bags & invitations at the Party City store and then later found a $9.99 pack with 8 bags, 8 bracelets, & some tattoos (cut them in 1/2's to make 16 sets of tattoos). I bought 2 bags of candy necklaces from the Dollar Tree. I also bought some camp" supplies at the 75% off Dollar Spot as well as bubbles and found flip flop swirly straws for 75% off at Walgreens. I also bought a sand bucket & filled it with bubbles & lots of bubble blowing toys. Its amazing how well bubbles will entertain kids! Total for goodie bags were about $20 so $1.25 per filled bag. For the grub I got: hot dogs hamburgers & the fixins chips my homemade ranch dip Hannah Montana fruit roll ups & Transformer fruit snacks rice krispy treats soda lemonade tea & water. Total cost? $26. In Camp Rock they served music note cupcakes so dd insisted on them instead of cake. We had purple & pink with chocolate music notes with glittery sprinkles from a local bakery-48 cupcakes were $28. About 30 people showed up so about $1.80 pp for lunch/dessert with plenty for seconds. When the girls (and boy) arrived I already had the Camp Rock cd ($10)blasting in the front yard. My dd showed them where the pool house was to change and they came back out front to blow bubbles do cartwheels and do "choreagraphed" dance routines. Once all the kids showed up they hopped in the pool & played a while with an adult watching all the time. I had blew up pink purple & teal balloons ($1) and had them floating on the pool like beach balls plus there were plenty of pool toys. Once the grilling was done we had me and my mama already making plates while my neighbor made drinks. The kids ate way faster than the adults & played on the treehouse/swing. DD and her party guests turned up the radio & made up a few more dances then we had the presents set up under a canopy. By then they were dry and could change as it was time to go. I handed out the goodie bags as the party guests left. DD and her guests had an awesome time (ages 5-13)!"
