For my child's 5th birthday she wanted to be a rock star. We began our endeavor with the invitation. I had my daughter pose with her pretend guitar for pictures that I later used
to create a CD cover, which served as the invitation. We downloaded several of her favorite songs onto a CD. Each child received a CD with their name on it and the front cover had
my daughter's picture and party information. It turned out pretty cool. We hosted the birhtday party in the fellowship hall of my church so we would have adequate space to do
everything she wanted to do.
We created our own pinata designed like a disco ball. Using lots and lots of glitter to cover it. The kids loved it. For entertainment, we constructed a stage alter and hung curtains in black and pink and displayed the words ROCK STAR" across them. We had several pretend guitars and microphone and a karaoke machine. Each child received a blow up guitar and microphone I purchased from OTC as part of their part treat. I also purchased "God Rocks" tattoos we put them on the kids that wanted them. We did a photo shoot of the kids in their various rock star poses. After the kids danced and sang and played their pretend instruments we decorated picture frames. We had cake and ice cream and opened presents. Each child got to take home their guitar microphone foam frame tattoos and candy from the pinata which include "Pop Rocks candy. For the thank you notes I sent copies of the pictures that we took to display in the frames that they made at the party. It was a great time!"
