Rock Star Diva Party My daughter was turning eight and loves to sing and dance. With our own ideas and with some great ideas off of this site we combined and had a fantastic Rock Star Diva Party. The invitations were home made on our computer which included the theme "Rock Star Party".  Come dressed as your favorite rock star with pictures of dancers, singers and records. Also included door prizes, lots of fun and mostly lots of grooving.  We had the girls do the limbo to start (that was lots of fun).  We had pizza for supper. The birthday girl then opened her gifts.  With all the kids wanting their presents opened first I randomly picked a gift for my daughter to open then whoevers present that was had to clean up the wrapping and then pick the next present for the birthday girl to open. As my daughter opened her gifts the friend it was from sat beside her and I took photos of my daughter with each individual friend.  When it is time for thank you cards we will include a photo with it. It was lots of fun and the girls loved it.  We then had cake, it was a home made money cake, as rock stars seem to have the bucks. After cake was done we had some more fun.  We had the girls do the twist and our son 11 judged and was named Simon for the night. He picked who he thought was the best twister. That girl who won got a small token. We then divided into two groups as there were 13 girls and 1/2 played pin the tail on the rock star donkey and the other half got their nails and makeup done and also made their own matching Rock Star Bandanas. Then we switched so all could do everything. Our funnest was the Diva Dance Walk. I cut out 13 circles and numbers them 1 - 13 and had Rock Star #1, #2 etc and placed them on the floor.  Played music (like musical chairs) until there was one Rock Star left. The Rock Star who was left standing and the end kept her number and then matched it to the door prize number. All of the other girls got door prizes too! I then randomly handed out the circles with numbers on them, then they matched them to the door prize as well. For loot bags I filled them with items from the dollar store such as microphone or miracas, diva note pads, music pencils, nice rocks, key chain necklace that said "star", erasers, and some candy.  Each girl also received a metal saying "winner" purchased at the dollar store.  These were given out after the twist competition.  For bags, plates, cups etc we used Hilary Duff.  It was a great night of fun full of laughs, music and friendship.  We had Rock Stars come dressed as Cher, Hilary Duff, Jo-Jo, Britany Spears, Avril L,.  The most popular was Hilary Duff. I even dressed up as a Rock Star but in my own style. Would do this again it was a great. We also had a dance globe that flashed red all around and decorated with balloons, happy birthday signs, and used blue and white streamers as that is my daughters favorite color (blue).
