For my daughter's first birthday I decided to go with a Rock Star¯ theme. To start, the INVITATIONS were a magazine front cover & back. On the front was a picture of her
holding a guitar with sunglasses on. The top said Happy 1st Birthday Marie. Around the picture there were headlines that read 1 & Carefree...that's me,Top 10 ways to help me
celebrate my birthday,5 things I won't tell mom & dad,¯ All about being a rock star,¯ and The inside story on The (last name)s .¯ The back had stars all over with a picture of her
wearing star glasses.
The party details were printed on the back as well as the 10 ways to help her celebrate¯ (I listed all the activities for the party). COSTUMES: Me & my husband wore black shirts with Manager written on them and my two son's age 3 & 2 wore black shirts with the word Body guard.¯ Her outfit was jeans & a home-made shirt with #1 Rock Star on front. DECORATIONS: I got scene setters with Rock & Roll¯ on them & guitars with a jukebox, too. Plates, napkins, cups, bowls & platters were the same decor (from partycity.) ACTIVITIES/GAMES: Since this is a Rock Star theme I had to figure out things that rock stars do & put them into ideas for kids to do. First, as each kid arrived, I had them put on t-shirts made with Rock Star¯ on them. Also, I handed each kid a pair of star shaped sunglasses so they feel like rock stars, too. I had 4 stations set up. 1. Salon: A bar stool set up with capes & 4 color choices of hair dyes to spray in their hair. 2. Tattoo Parlor: A stand with rock & roll like tattoos to choose from. Star shaped sponges to apply them, too. 3. Photo Shoot: I used the scene setters for background & bought polaroids with frames that had a jukebox on it so each kid can take a picture home. 4. Party House: Every rock star has a party house so I used a moonwalk (bouncy) for that! I had a guitar shaped piƱata for the kids to break open. I also had a section to play musical instruments & dance. SNACKS/FOOD: I had mixed appetizers, salads, pizza and subs. (All put in bowls or platters with Rock & Roll theme.) CAKE: I had made her a special smash cake just for her shaped like a star. I had 2 cakes for the guests. One was a guitar that was star shaped & the other a piano/keyboard. I also had star shaped cookies for each kid. FAVORS: Besides the t-shirts, glasses & polaroids, I gave each family a star shaped guitar & keyboard. The cakes were made just like the favors, too! It was a great time for the kids to Party Like A Rock Star!
