For my daughter's 9th birthday we planned an "All Diva Concert" Party.
Their invitations were a concert ticket, a backstage pass (on a chain to wear around their neck), and an instruction sheet that told them to come dress as their favorite rock star at 6:30 ready for hair, make-up and dress rehersal. The concert ticket said the concert was to be at 8:00 and the parents and siblings were told to come back at that time. The parents got press pass pins and the siblings got crew badges. We rented a rope and poles (like at the movies) set it up at the front door were someone wore a shirt saying "Bouncer" on the front and the "All Diva Concert" on the back. I printed these off the computer onto iron paper and ironed it onto a shirt. At the driveway we had a sign that said "No Limos Past This Point". We emptied out a large room, rented a stage, hung sheets died to be curtains, hung decorations, and rock star posters adding coming soon to the bottom of them. We set up chairs for the audience. We had a keyboard, microphones, inflatable guitars and saxaphones (these were sent homa as party favors). WHen the girls arrived we yelled and screamed like fans would and called out their names. Then they were spit into three groups, each group went to make-up where a mom did their make-up very wild. (I found makeup sets that looked like a cd in a cd case, each girl took one of these home.) Or they went to hair were 2 moms were crimping, curling or doing any wild hairstyle they could equiped with lots of glitter hairspray. Or they went to the sound stage and picked which song they would sing and practiced it. The groups stayed in each area for 30 minutes then went to the next. My husband was the MC and announced each group with the name they picked for their band. I videod the concert and had my daughter say thank you at the end and gave that to each girl as their thank you so they could always remember it.
