A Generation Explosion: Have the party be a costume party and the theme be all different kinds of generations like the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and the 40s if you want. Have every guest pick a generation and wear a costume that represents that generation. After everyone arrives and you have refreshments and open presents (If it is a birthday party) then go around the room and have everyone tell about their costume and the generation they chose and why. The party room should be decorated with things from all of the above generations. Such as Elvis records, Michael Jackson Records, peace signs etc. Play music from all of the above generations also. This party would especially be cool if it was a millennium party. Have door prizes! Have a costume contest! The door prizes could be won by asking a question about each generation to the guests. The 3 people that answer the most questions get the door prizes. The costume Contest can be judged on how well the person presented the generation and the most outrageous one! Party favors can be mini CDs with mixed kinds of music from all the generations. Food can vary in whatever the host decides would be best.
