For my daughter's 12th birthday, we had a "Make your own Diva Music Video" party. You will need a Karaoke machine, a video camera, lots of glittery decorations, blow up instruments
and microphones. I used metallic fringe curtains from a party decoration catalog for wall covering-it also made a great backdrop for the music videos! I asked the girls to bring their
favorite Diva outfit to change into. I purchased inexpensive make-up (sample-sized)for each girl to have as part of the make-over and their goody bag. We all sat around and helped each other
transform into little divas. I also had an instant camera to take before and after shots of the girls. The girls loved it and they even went as far as to plan out background dancers and
singers to join them in the video. (I plan on using this tape to show them at their eighth grade graduation parties!) I had the usual party food-pizza, pop, chips, etc. The cake had a musical
decorative theme. The girls also played "Kiss Justin Timberlake" using the lipstick from their goody bags, a poster, and a blindfold. The object was to see who could
"kiss" Justin on the lips. This might be too "old" for younger girls to play this way, so you could just use cut-out lips to instead. My daughter taped a thank you on
video and then my husband transferred each girl's video to the copy and she gave them out instead of the traditional thank you notes. The girls are still talking about it...it will hard to
top for her 13th party!
