For my daughter's second birthday I was looking for something different so we had a HOLLYWOOD Party. The inviations we a white invitations with a silver star paper pasted on the front and then I stamp a camera, sunglasses, and star and backed them with red paper and pasted them on top of the silver star paper.  The invitation read:  Lights, camera, action! <last name> pictures proudly presents <child's name> second birthday starring <child's name> as herself and you as her guest. <last name> studios etc.   I bought a feather boa for the girls and top hats for the boys.  We played a dress up game.  I gave them 10-15 minutes to dress up and then handed out awards that I made on the computer and a small prize. Like most original, best dressed etc.  Each child got an award to avoid some one getting upset.  We also bought quick drying cement and some star beads to make walk of fame stones in the back yard.  Unfortunately, it rained and we were not able to do it but it would have been a great activity if you have a lot of parental help which I did.    The food was fancy like a hollywood party. I have many adults so I did shrimp cocktail,  a Brown Derby (famous Hollywood restaurant)cobb salad and the like.  I put out my silver and glassware on the buffet table with white linens and silver star sprinlked throughout. For decorations, we hung silver stars in all sizes from the ceiling.  We made a Hollywood sign out of cardboard and white paint for the outside. We had silver, red, and white latex balloons and silver and red star mylar balloons about. I also bought a Hollywood sign poster on ebay that I hung above the cake.  The cake was in the shape of a star with red star in red sprinkle stars throughout. The goodie bags were silver bags with sunglasses, silver pencils, fancy necklaces for the girls, limosines cars for the boys.  I also found clapboard keychains for the adults.  It was definitely a fun party for all age groups!!
