My daughter loves princesses, so we decided to make a special princess party for her 4th Bday at home, outside in the garden (it was August - her 3rd party was a butterfly party). Inivations
were homemade in the shape of a crown, decorated with pink, and using glitter glue and stickers. We invited 6 girls with their moms, and asked the girls to come dressed as princesses. When
all the guests arrived, we started the party with my old 1960's film projector showing sleeping beauty (it works like a slide show, and I narrated it for them). Then we all went outside to
the garden where the rest of the party took place. We played several games, for example: 1) Find the Pea - I hid a small green ball underneath a pillow (there were 3 pillows), and the girls
took turns sitting on the pillows to find (feel) where it is 2) Kiss the Frog Prince - like pin the tail on the donkey. They took paper cutouts of a frog prince's face, and with a blindfold
had to place it on the large outline. 3) Knock the Slipper - I placed a pair of my dress shoes on the box and girls had to throw apples from the garden to knock them down. 4) Group Treasure
Hunt - with clues hidden all over the garden, I drew a large treasure map, and each clue gave them a sticker that they placed on the map (steps) that led them to the treasure. The treasure
was a basket with golden satchels I had prepared previously for each girl. Each satchel contained a princess skirt (I made skirts from inexpensive fabric) and a necklace (made of christmas
beads), a ring, and a tiara (dollar store). Then we had a princess ball where we played a few pieces from Tchaikovsky. My husband played a few songs on the guitar and the girls sang with him,
and then he would mix the songs up or pretend that he forgot the words and that was a lot of fun, the girls were trying to mix it up too. After that, the cake arrived, it was pink with
marsipan roses, I baked it myself. We had a buffet for adults and a special princess table for the girls, with ribbons and golden placemats (I bought precut mats already meant for cakes).
After the snack we took a walk to the forest behind the house with a cute little pond full of goldfish and had inflatable boat rides, the girls took turns 2 at a time. We brought along bread
pieces to feed the goldfish from the boat, the girls loved it. And my husband was the sailor!!!! And when we came back to the garden we blew up our inflatable bouncy castle (a small one, it
could fit 3 kids at a time) but there was no problem in taking turns. Towards the end (it lasted about 3 hours), all the guests were happy, tired, and did not want to leave!!! They took home
the skirts and all the decorations. That was a great party with loooooots of fun! Hope this will give you some inspiration. Good luck!!
