5 Yr old Princess/Prince Party.  I love your website -- its so helpful!!!  I spent many many many months planning this gala.  I did my Princess/Prince invitations on the computer. I used glossy gold paper and wrote, Hear Ye! hear Ye! By the order of the King and Queen Princess (I put the guests name here to personalize) is cordially invited to the (my last name) Castle to celebrate Princess (my daughters name here) 5th Birthday! The Royal Celebration will begin with a Feast at Half Past Twelve in the Afternoon on the Twentieth of August Two Thousand Five (The Queen asks that you come dressed in your favorite princess attire). Please return the attached reply card on or before the First of August.  I mailed my invitations in gold mailing tubes and addressed each one to the child and mother (i.e. Princess Susan Smith and Queen Heather).  This made sure that each mother knew they were invited and didnt drive off. I also put in map quest directions to eliminate alot of phone calls. I had so many post card stamps left over from my vacation that I included a postcard reply card in the tube (I bought the Avery Post Cards and made them myself). I provided a self addressed stamp for each child with their name typed in the return address to elimate confusion with the cards were returned to my address. When the Princess and Prince entered my home they walked down the red carpet (I purchased a red table cloth on a roll from the party store) and proceeded to the chase lounge to have their picture taken with the Princess (my friend dressed like a Princess and I dressed as the Queen). The Princess gave each Princess a tiara and wand. She also gave each Prince a crown and sword. I rented 5 tables from our church and decorated them with white tablecloths and gold skirts. Since I had 18 children (14 girls and 4 boys) I put two tables together longways and decorated with confetti, gold plates, gold napkins and gold silverware. I found pink and blue plastic goblets at JC Penneys that the children were able to drink from and take home.  The goblets sat on a gold dollie. I also placed name cards at everybodys plate (so nice and avoided any fighting). It was certainly a BEAUTIFUL table!!! I also rented the chairs from the church.  My birthday girl sat at the head of the table. We served peanut butter and jelly cutout sandwiches (I purchased cookie cutters of a glass slipper, tiara, frog and heart). I also gave the children a container of applesauce on their plates.  I served the adults finger sandwiches (ranging from turkey, roast beef, cheese, tuna salad and chicken salad)and broc. salad.  We played limbo (I purchased from Oriental Trading)and Pin the Lips on the Frog (purchased from EBAY).  I made sure each child received a prize even if they lost (just a small little something --- kids do cry if they dont win something).  I had a grand prize for the actual winner.  I also had a photo frame craft for all of the children that I purchased from JoAnn Fabrics on line. We had a Barbie cake that I purchased from our local gorcery store -- you bring them the barbie doll and they make the cake around it. It was so beautiful.   I also found BEAUTIFUL thank you cards on ebay from Texas Keepsakes that they personalize very affordably.  All in all this was definately a party worth all of the time and effort --- everybody thanked me for a fun time!!!
