Princess Party-4 year old For my daughter's 4th birthday party, she wanted a PRINCESS party!
Our invitations were made on the computer, tri-fold brochere type. On the front was a picture of a castle and it said, "Dreaming of going to the ball??", When you opened it, the 2nd page had a picture of a magic wand and confetti and the words, "Bippity Boppity Boo!", and when you opened it completely up, it said, in calligraphy writing, "Here Ye Here ye! Family ______ Your presence is requested at the 4th Birthday Celebration of Princess Isabelle at the (last name) Castle at (address) When the clock strike one Please RSVP to Sir________ (dad's 1st name) or Madam ________(mom's first name) at (Phone number) Decorations for the party included a red plastic tablecloth decorated with markers on the sides (jewel shapes), and set down at the front steps as the red carpet. Placed on each side of the door was a flag (dowels and white fabric and fabric paint). One had a crown painted on it, and the other had a coat of arms and the number 4 painted on it. I purchased silver and pink and purple 4" cardboard shiny stars, and punched a hole in them and hung them at the back door from varying lengths. You can buy markers that write on glass (Crayola), and I wrote the words, "When you wish upon a star..." on the back door. I also hung several from the ceiling fan, and used the rest as confetti on the table. With the glass markers, I wrote on our bathroom mirror, "Mirror, Mirror on the wall..." Plates, napkins, glasses, utensils were pink and silver. Had pink and silver balloons and streamers. Princess Pinata hung in garage with more streamers and balloons. Made a pink strawberry cake (2 rectangle cakes from box mix, strawberry jam spread on the middle), frosted in pink, ice cream cones inverted to make the turrets, also frosted. Gold and silver balls spread around, drawbridge made from pink wafer cookies and licorice pulls, and finished off with row of gold hershey almond kisses all the way around the castle. Cake placed on sheet of cardboard that was wrapped in foil. Since party was at 1, just served appetizers, jello jigglers in diamond shapes (Crown jewels), meatballs (family jewels~ha ha), Princess potion (raspberry sherbet and 7-up), hot dogs and crescent rolls, fruit salad, shrimp and cocktail sauce, a round loaf of bread, (Cinderella's Coach), filled with spinach dip, 2 cucumber slices placed at the bottom to look like wheels, and white string tied to 2 horses... rice crispy treats in the shape of stars, and a popsicle stick going through it, and curling ribbon attached, for magic wands, meat and cheese trays, and other appetizers. We rented a castle jumper for the kids, played "Cinderella Cinderella where's your slipper", musical chairs to Disney soundtrack, pin the crown on the princess, and the pinata. Party favors were: Little glass slippers (wedding favors) filled with pink jelly beans, wrapped in tulle and ribbon, Princess stickers, Princess crayons, little container of bubbles, pinwheel, little pink pocket-purse set with bracelet, ring and comb, and of course, Pack of Princess fruit snacks. All but the fruit snacks found at our dollar store. Fun-filled day, well worth the work!!
