Princess party 3yr My daughter asked for a pricess party for her third bithday, so after reading just about every ideas on the site for a princess party this is what I came up with. For the invitations...I printed them on parchment paper and they read "Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Her royal highness Princess (first name) Of the house of (last name)requests your presence at the Royal Celebration of the third year of her birth On (date and time) at her family castle on (street name)RSVP regrets only." I then rolled the invites like scrolls and tied them with ribbon and attached a tag with Princess or Prince and the guests name and a chocolate rose. We hand-delivered the invites.  The cake was of course a castle...I baked a square cake two layer cake and used rolled fondant to decorate, and also covered ice cream cones with the fondant to make it look like a castle, each cone had a little flag I made out of fun foam.  We also got large pieces of cardboard and painted them gray and then painted black flagstones on them to make a castle to put up around our front door. So we had a castle complete with a turrit and banners (which I made with fun foam) with our last initial on them, to greet our guests.  We took pictures of all the kids as they arrived in their princess attire with the birthday girl. We just had snacks for the kids to munch on while everyone arrived...chesse,crackers, and grapes.  They thought that was great. I had decorated our dinning room to look like a grand ballroom with a streamer cover ceiling and a table set for a royal feast. I had purchases clear plastic plates and sliver plastic spoons and forks, and also some clear plastic goblets. As favors I had pruchases some very inexpensive sequence material to make all the girls capes and princess cones and we had one prince who I purchased a sheild and kninght helmet for online. The kids all had fun trying on their costumes. After all the guests arrived they sat down to have cake, ice cream and princess punch(sparkling cider that I change the lable on). For games we played Pin the Slipper on Cinderella (my brother drew a picture from a coloring book onto a sheet of posterboard). The kids had fun doing this, but no spinning just blindfolded..they were too small for that. Then we opened presents and the kids played with some of the gifts for a few minutes. Then I told them we had to go out back, I thought I saw a dragon.  So out to the back deck we went to slay the dragon pinata!  We did not blindfold the kids and all the parents had asked ahead of time if a hit pinata was ok. The pinata was super tuff!!  My husband hit it a couple of time too and nothing, someone ended pulling it open and the kids grabbed the loot (some candy, whistles, and I put small sliver stars in to add a little fun). Everyone had a blast and all went very well.  Thanks to this web site and everyones great ideas!!!
