Princess Party for a 6 year old: For my daughter's 6th birthday we had a Disney Princess party. For invitations I purchased some inexpensive blank cards for Michael's and sent the Royal proclaimations from Princess Anna, of the House of Gentry to Princess____of the House of _______ to celebrate the sixth year of her birth and to arrive at the Castle wearing their favorite party dress, RSVP to the Quenn Mum. My daughter helped with decorating each card with themed stickers.  Our guests of honor were Cinderella and Prince Charming (my teenage daughter and her boyfriend wearing their prom attire). Cinderella escorted each little girl into our castle for the festivities. For decorations we found Disney Princess streamers and pastel balloons purchased inexpensively at the local party stores' clearance rack.  The party was set up in our formal living and dining rooms complete with lace table cloths. We used a glass fish bowl filled with Ariel's under the sea treasures and floating candles for a centerpiece. Each place was set with a placecard naming each princess.  In the kitchen we had stations set up for makeup, manicures, and crafts.  To keep things rolling smoothly, I enlisted the help of my other teenage daughter and two neighbors.  Each girl got their makeup and nails done, followed by donning a princess flower garland. I made these with silk floral garlands and some tulle purchased at Walmart, held together with floral tape. Each guest decorated a goblet to be fit for a princess at the craft table (plastic wine glasses, glitter glue, and plastice jewels). After this, each princess played "pin the glass slipper on Cinderella". We found this game, complete with glass slipper stickers on the party store's clearance shelf for only eighty-five cents. The next game was princess bingo.  We used a kid's version of a bingo game and adapted it using princess confetti as bingo markers. We had Disney Princess coloring pages and crayons scattered on the table to keep them amused as well.  I bought the cake, decorated with the glass coach, Cinderella and the prince, at a local bakery to save time. After cake, ice cream, pink lemonade, and cookies it was time for our birthday princess to open her gifts many of which were related to her favorite princess, Ariel. Following gift opening, we played pass the glass slipper (a version of hot potato).  I found a CD with Disney Princess music to use for this game as well as background music throughout the party. Game winners received prizes that I found at the dollar store like body glitter, lip gloss, and ring pops. As each guest was leaving, the birthday girl presented each of her guests with a lovely gift bag. I found purple organdy draw string bags at Michael's and filled each with inexpensive princess-related trinkets.  All in all, it was a memorable party for my daughter and her guests.  It was definetly not the usual pizza parlor party and was one my princess will remember for years to come.
