Disney Princess Party 3 yr. For my daughter's 3rd birthday in the summer we had a Disney Princess party. We had boy and girl guests ages 6 mo. - 8 yrs. We were able to have it outside,
so we had several inflatable pools of different sizes and a Slip 'n' Slide set up and game stations like a carnival. There was a game station set up to represent each of the six Disney
Princesses. I also made a huge castle out of interconnecting cardboard boxes that had a big double door and windows, etc. I painted it grey and sponged a lighter shade of grey here and there.
Then I painted some square blocks around to look like the stone blocks on an old castle. I got appliance boxes from Sears and paint from the Oops! section at Home Depot. I assembled it in my
garage and kept it their until the party.
Upon arrival, kids could eat pizza, snacks, and juice boxes/Capris Sun and then get in the wading pools and play in the castle as we waited
for all the guests to arrive. I decorated in the Disney Princess party supplies found at Birthday Express and Target.
Once all the guests had arrived, all kids were given empty gift
bags with their names on them and crowns (boys) or tiaras (girls) and were told to hit the game stations. At each station, win or lose, kids would receive a prize to put in their bag. Station
1: Aladdin and Jasmine's Treasure Dig - Kids dug for jewels in our sandbox and were allowed to take with them a ring, bracelet, and necklace from Oriental Trading Co. (OTC). Station 1.5:
Ariel's fish rescue - For this one I printed and colored a picture of Ursula and placed it in a Ziploc freezer bag. I floated the bag in a small wading pool filled with small colorful plastic
fish from OTC. I had a few fish nets out and kids could rescue a set number of fish to take with them. (This was a lot of fun for the youngest kids at the party, though the older kids were
happy to collect fish too! Many kids would catch extra fish and throw them back. Simple fun!) Station 2: Ariel's Octopus Ring Toss: In a larger pool I placed an inflatable octopus ring tossed
game purchased from OTC and had them play for a mini beach ball from OTC. Station 3: Cinderella Slipper - Like pin the tail on the donkey but with Cinderella and her glass slipper. I got the
game from Party City and gave punching balloons from OTC as the prize. The person that got the closest won a small stuffed animal. Station 4: The Evil Queen's Potion for Snow White - At this
station the kids mixed Mummy Dust (baking soda), Monster Tears (vinegar), Frog Slime (drop of green dish soap), and Pond Water (water) to make a foaming potion. As they stirred it with a
plastic spoon they had to say a magic word and then pour their finished product in a bucket with an apple floating in it. Upon competion, they received a ring pop from OTC (since it looks
like the jewels the Dwarfs mine) as a prize. Station 5: Beauty and the Beast's Magic Mirror - At this station the kids decorated the back of a plastic handheld miror from the Dollar Store
with stickers from OTC. A helper wrote their name on the back in silver or gold marker. Since many of the kids didn't know how to spell their name, this is where having their name on the gift
bags they were carrying helped a lot. Station 6: Sleeping Beauty Rest Stop - At this station they received a coloring book of Disney pages printed from the internet and a pack of crayons or
markers from OTC and some stickers (from Target). Here they could color on blankets while everyone finished the stations, though most wanted to get back in the pools.
I put pop-up
canopies and tents borrowed from friends, family, and neighbors around the yard for certain stations, for the presents, and for the parents. My daughter opened her gifts in an open tent. The
kids were having so much fun in the pools, I just had each one come over and present their gift to her, watch her open it, and go back and play. I made a castle cake similar to the Princess
Cake found at familyfun.com and had ice cream cups. Everyone had a great time and couldn't believe all the fun and games. I was asked when I'd start my own party planning business. It was a
lot of planning, but maybe this will help YOU!
