A Princess Party to remember. Tajma turned 10 years old and had a Powerful Pricess Party. I sent invitations out to 25, 10 year olds. I made the invitations on the computer(scroll paper). "Hear Ye, Hear,Ye Princess (girls Name)is required to attend the royal banquet to celebrate the birthday of princess Tajma Hall.I asked each princess to wear Royal Attire and Tiaras. The invites were mailed in metallic gold tubes with a diamond ring pop and confetti. The girls loved the invites so much they brought them to school to show off.  We live in downtown Chicago, and parking is sometimes difficult so I instructed them to have their carriages drop them off at the front door. At the door, I had two older teenage cousins, who happen to be band members dressed in costume as Royal Pages. As each Princess entered she was saluted with a trumpet serenade. Each girls face lights up when they hear the trumpets. When the princess entered the "ballroom" She was announced by a Page, "Princess(girl's name has arrived)".These gils were so beautiful. All wore their Sunday's Best. This set the entire tone for the party and the girls could not wait to see who would enter next. The princesses had free time for the first 30 minutes, then we played games befitting of the princesses. I played "Who knows Tajma,". I had a photo of my daughter enlarged to poster size at Kinko's and played pin the crown on the princess. Each girl designed a paper crown (from Oriental Trading) and used for the game. Next game, I told them that the kings crown had been stolen and who ever got caught with it when the music stopped, was out ofthe game(version of musical chairs). We also had a dance contest. Decorations were simple to make. I made a castle out of two appliance boxes, gold spray paint and ballons. Each girl took a picture of my daughter with the castle as thebackdrop. The royal banquet was beautiful. I rented a champagne fountain and made pink lemonade, with plastic champagne glasses it made this celebration royal. I could not afford the cake (castle) and my baking skills are not good, so I ordered a cake from the local grocery store, with a crown in the middle and my daughters picture. It was so spectacular. We served, Pizza, finger sandwiches in the shape of crowns and castles, chicken nuggets, popcorn and pretzels. My colors were pink, purple(royal colors) and gold. I had gold confetti all around the room, the tables centerpiece with cardboard metallic crowns and flanked with ballons. The food was served on gold trays. I gave each princess a glow necklace and bracelet and we turned out the lights to sing Happy Birthday. It was a magical sight -40 purple lights glowing in the dark. I made my daughter a throne with cheap purple fabric and streamers. Every family member that helped wore a crown, kings and queens. The goody bags were small cardboard boxes shaped like colorful purses and I filled them with body glitter, rhinestone rings and bracelets, diaries and gel pens.(All came fom Oriental Trading) We gave each girl a metallic magic wand when they left the castle. This party was truly magical, I recommend it for everyone that has a special girl. I sent thank you notes with a photo of each girl with my daughter in a cardboard frame. This party reminded me how magical little girls can be.
