A Princess Gala.
For my daughters 3rd Birthday I wanted to make it special. First for invitations we sent out scroll invitations stating, "Hear ye! Hear ye! You are cordially invited to Lady Josephine Palace to Celebrate Princess Airanna's Birthday"!! Date, Time etc. (with some heart shape glitter), You will be served a royal buffet. Please respond to the Court Jester. When each responded to the invitation I requested the girls dress up in their best. When the children arrived each girl had a high tulle hat and a glitter wand. The boys wore beret with a feather and a matching tunic also with a purple wand that I made. We greeted everyone with "My Lord & My Lady" once everyone was introduce it was time to announce the Princess. She made a grad entrance with a white gown. (She had as a flower girl for my brothers wedding) Tiara (bought at a 99¢ store) I glued some pink plastic gems so it would match her cape I made a pink metallic cape and attached a boa on the edge with a tassel tie. The royal colors were purple, Pink & scarlet. Covered the table with a tablecloth laid streamers down the center, sprinkle, sequins of red and pink hearts confetti on the table. Lots of balloons steamers and curling ribbons hung from the ceiling. Placed a banner over her chair that read "Princess Birthday Party," covered her chair (which was a high back wing chair) the same material of her cape but a darker shade of pink. The centerpiece was a castle my son made of cardboard and a plush dragon next to it. A purple gift bag toped with tissue paper with some chocolate coins on the table and a photo of the birthday girl on the bag. Everyone was so impress with the decorations, hats & wand for the kids. We played games like "Red Rover," "Pass the Poison Apple" (hot potatoes), Simon says The Queen/King say "Mother may I," etc. Won some great prizes. Treats for the Kingdom: were "Royal Punch" (which was pink lemonade); chicken wings & macaroni and cheese, heart shape pink and white glazed cookies, veggie dip and some deep red chips the table was pretty colorful. The cake I had order but I bought some miniature and design the top of the cake with Disney Princess: I had Cinderella standing in a stage coach and her Prince on the cake, Snow White with one elf, Sleeping Beauty with an arch. I had the baker make a scene for Ariel sitting on a rock out of the water and Jasmine on a magic carpet and last Belle with Beast. After cake the kids had to slay the dragon (hit the piñata) that was loaded with candies and little toys. As favors to the fair maidens with a glass slipper with gold chocolate coins and the knights, goblets with gold coins. I was fun making everything but it was more fun watching the kids trying to act like they were in that mid-evil times. Hats : poster cardboards (for 69¢ I used 4 which made 8 tulle) covered them with a scarlet foil wrapping paper (99¢ I used 3rolls) and used metallic curly scarlet ribbons and pink chiffon for the hats, which were high. The boys wore Beret with a feather on the side. Beret: I had cut out 18 inches in circular from a cotton cloth got some elastic maybe ¾ inches wide and 16 inches long sawed the ends together and then sawed the cotton material on to the elastic. Dye them in the color "Scarlet" then sawed the feather on when they were dry. Tunic: bought about 5 tee shits 99¢ (cause that's how many boys I had) cut the slits up the sides cut to the selves cut out the collar. At the bottom and the end of the selves I cut out square shape (1 inched in square) and skipped one then cut another then dye them in the same color scarlet. Tie at the waist with a gold rope. Then we drew a crest on each one with fabric markers. Wand: At the craft shop I bought 6 wooden sticks which measured a yard and cut 4 of them in half and glued heart shape thin piece of wood on to each stick painted them scarlet color wrapped the stick with the metallic curly ribbons and the heart I glued some pink and scarlet glitter with some curly ribbon glued on the top and bottom of each heart and let them hang. I did the same with the boys' wand I cut the remaining 2 sticks in to 3 and did the same but I glued a ball like on top of each wand and glued glitter on the ball. Goblets & Glass Slipper – bought 6 of each from a bridal shop order ribbons with "Princess Arianna's 3rd Gala." On the goblets I glue plastic gems around with a ribbon shape like bow with a sack of gold chocolate coins in it. The slipper I placed a single white gem on the top of the shoe and placed a ribbon bow with a gem on the side of the shoe.
