My daughter wanted a princess party for her 4th birthday. I made invitations on the computer using paper I purchased that looked like a scroll. The invitations said Princess (name) invites you
to her royal birthday party on (date) at (time). The party will be held at the palace at (address). We hope you will come and enjoy the festivities and feast. Each invitation was rolled up
scroll style and tied with a ribbon.
I purchased clear plastic goblets and clear silverware and glued "jewels" all around the cups and one on each handle of the silverware. In keeping with our colors of lavender and deep purple I used a lavender tablecloth, deep purple plates and napkins. The bejeweled cutlery looked really pretty on the dark napkins. I sprinkled jewels all around the tablecloth. I used a lot of balloons and they were all tied with lengths of different colored tulle, giving them a very soft look. I also draped tulle from my ceiling fans and the backs of the table chairs. When each princess arrived she was "crowned" by the birthday girl with crowns I made using plastic headbands, tulle and tiny flowers. The girls loved these. The kids played pass the crown (like hot potato, only using a crown), pin the crown on the princess ( I drew an outline of my daughter on a piece of white craft paper and let her color it) and had a treasure hunt ( I hid chocolate coins around the house). The feast of pizza was served on silver trays by the royal parents, who were also wearing crowns. After cake the presents were opened and then I took a picture of each girl, dressed in their crown with the birthday girl. We sent thank you notes out along with the pictures. Note: I made the girls' crowns by tying a long piece of tulle to a headband so it would hang down the back. Then I glued tiny roses to the headband.
