Party Supplies

For my daughters 1 year birthday I did a princess theme. We had 30 adults and 10 children over to our house for her party.  For invitations I sent out computer generated half sheet cards in Old English font with a balloon border purchased at Office Max.  "Your presence is requested in the celebration of Princess Paula's First Birthday. Please join us at (last name) Castle on March 9th at 2:30pm for royal treats and magical times". I chose lavender, purple, white and silver as her colors. We draped lavender and white streamers in the kitchen and family room the night before.  We hung purple and white balloons from the centers of the streamers. We blew up approx. 40 purple and white helium balloons the day of the party, clumping them together and putting them all over the house. They all had a pearl effect to them as well. Each child left with a balloon. I also twisted silver stars on a wire (purchased at party store) around the deck posts in the backyard.   For entertainment I didn't want to do games so I rented a Castle Jumper in pink and purple. All the children loved it! Some adults did too. I filled a piņata with candy and piņata favors purchases at the party store. The children enjoyed hitting the piņata and loved it even more when the goodies fell out! I had bought bubbles with a large wand for entertainment as well.  My brother-in-law ran around the yard creating lots of bubbles which the children loved and chased.    For food I used silver throw away platters for easy clean up.  I had lunch meats, cheeses, different types of breads, veggie platter, fruit bowl, pasta salad, chips/dip, hot wings and a couple guests brought some delicious treats.   For drinks we purchased fruit drink boxes for the children and soda's, beer and wine for the adults. The drink boxes were in silver buckets all around the outside of the house for easy access.  I had 2 shades of lavender for plates, cups, and napkins.   We had 2 cakes. One for Paula to dig into and a larger one for the guests. I had our local grocery store baker decorate it with a Cinderella w/carriage to go with the Princess theme. For favors I did purple goody bags filled with bubbles and a pinwheel.  The children and adults all said they had a great time.
