For my 3 year old daughter we had a princess ball.
I made her a Cinderella gown complete with gloves. We decorated the room with lots of pink and white balloons. We had a pretty large room/hall which we divided into sections. We had the castle room--I painted two large (refrigerator size or bigger) cartons in pink and taped them together made doors and windows and placed royal theme pictures. The kids loved to run in and out of it and peek through the windows. Next we had the banquet room. We place the tables in a U shape complete with pink and white tablecloths and Cinderella place settings. We had kiddy-menu (chicken nuggets, PBJ sandwiches, Mac & cheese, pizza, etc). Next we had the game room. All the kids got to put the slipper on the princess (poster of princess and slipper labels--can be done from computer programs); after this we sat the kids in a circle, and all the parents took off their shoes and placed them in a bab, I then gave two none matching shoes to each parent and one at a time the children had to find the shoes that belonged to them. Next we played hot pumpkin (variation of hot potato) to the theme of the Cinderella music. Another game was the prince race. All the boys raced to get pink balloons from the princesses. And finally we had the waltz. We were suppose to have a parent-child waltzing competition but all the 3 year olds decided they would dance by themselves. And they did not want to stop! Finally we had the throne room where we had the gift table and the cake made from two sheets of cake one as a base one cut up to fit shape of a castle and used Cinderella figurines. At the end of the party we opened the gifts. As my daughter announced the gift giver we brought the child gave him/her a thank you gift prior to my daughter opening hers. Goodie bags were homemade princess and prince bags with party supply gifts and candy. We then waltzed the day away!
