Castle theme
Well I wanted to throw a princes theme for my 5 year old, I started out by finding 3 of the biggest boxes I could ( ones that hold fridges)you can just ask around most companies can help you out with it, I then set them up one longer one in the middle and 2 taller ones on the out side of this box and then tied them together and I cut the top so it would look like a castle with the peeks and stuff and then I cut holes for the windows round at the top and then I made a big door way like a castle door, I also cut door on the inside so they could walk from box to box, I then painted black lines on the box to make it look like bricks, it looked real it turned out great, I also made some flags and banners and hung them from the castle. then for the rest of my theme I bought party hats and then I took streamer and glued them into the tip of the hat so there was about a foot of streamer hanging out and I also added ribbon so it shined and looked richy like gold, then for the birthday girl I made hers allot different so it stuck out. I bought fake diamonds and glued them on her hat. and for the boys hats I made hats with feathers sticking out, I guess kinda like robin hood. for the girls I made wands I made these out of very thick cardboard I cut stars out and I got those stick you put on the end of balloons and I stuck them into the star and I glued gold and sliver streamers on them and painted the stars purple and sprinkled glitter on them. They looked so cool and the kids loved them and for the boys I made swords and again I used very thick cardboard, and I painted them, for the decoration we had it out side and I kept with the theme, I put two tables together and I put table cloths on and we just put fake diamonds around the table to look real, I bought little toasting glasses,( that you use at a wedding) and I once again took fake diamonds and glued them to the glasses, I made a cake in the shape of a castle, and for the gift bags I used the clear colored cellophane and put in stuff like chocolate money, rings, necklaces, fake diamonds anything that resembles gold, and I tied that with ribbon and placed them on the table and for there drinks I bought sprit and I had made ice cubes out of cool-aid and 4 different colors so when you add them to the drink it turns the sprit different color and adds a different taste as well, this trick has gone over so well I actually use it at every birthday party the kids have (the kids insist) and for the birthday girls chair I made it look like a princes chair would I painted and cut out of cardboard a back and tied it to the chair she sat in. it looked good. my daughter and I made invitations in the shape of a castle. I try to make every thing I can when having a theme party for my kids, its allot more fun and cheaper than buying it all and the kids have a blast making stuff, the kids loved the castle the best and the drinks they played in the castle almost the whole time, I also got big roles of paper and hung them from the deck and put paint and paint brushes out for them. we had a contest in the sand box to see who could build a sand castle. I made a box into a treasure chest and they had to look for the box filled with gold,
