We celebrated my 2 yr old daughters birthday party yesterday with a "8 Dancing Princesses Party".
I sent out individually personalized invitations, that I made on my home PC in the shape of a scroll, which said "Princess Chloe (my daughter) requests the pleasure of Princess Karina's (example) company to celebrate her 2nd Birthday in True Princess Style, Please join us....at the Castle Pacholea (our name). P.S. Queen Cheryl (Karina's mom) is also invited." At the very bottom, because this was a princess only party, I added a foot note that said "Queen Mum's, this Princess Bash is for Princesses ages 1 - 4 only. No Princes are invited as we are not yet arranging marriages". The invitations were delivered rolled up and sealed with wax. (really easy) I rented a moonwalk in the shape of a castle and made princess skirts for each little girl out of tulle and ribbon. Each little princess had her own tiara and high heeled, plastic "princess shoes", as well as lots of Princess Jewelry (decorator beads, candy necklaces and rings). All little girls were allowed to put lipstick on and have their nails painted (kids washable paint) by their moms. Finally each little girl received a sash that said "Princess Karina (i.e.)". Each mom also received a tiara and sash (Queen Cheryl - i.e.) Our Princesses played tea party, played dolls, jumped in the Castle, played musical thrones (dancing princesses) and were served birthday cupcakes by the Birthday Girl's big brother, Prince Max (dressed as a prince even). Everything was pink with lots of balloons and streamers. The menu included princess and heart shaped PB & J sandwiches, cupcake holders of raisins, peanuts (careful with the under 2 set), pastel M&Ms, veggies & dip, etc. Mom's had a pasta salad and spinach dip. For birthday cake, each little girl received her very own mini cupcake with candle and all little girls sang to Chloe but blew out their own candle. Parting Gifts were personalized coloring books "Chloe's Princess Book" (i.e.) with homemade PC-made "Princess Power Stationery/coloring paper and tons of Princess stuff downloaded from Playhousedisney.com (coloring pages, a story and paper dolls). The little girls had a blast and stayed beyond the hour we had set. We had no temper tantrums and lots of fun. Limiting the numbers to just 8 was a good idea and keeping the bigger kids out was perfect to keep attention on the little ones. Besides that, there is nothing better than seeing your princess dressed up like one with all her little friends.
