Princess Party
My 10 year old daughter wanted a Princess Party. We sent out invitations on parchment paper, "Hear ye, Hear ye Princess Rachel of the House of Smith requires your presence on the 10th day of January from eleven to three," tied with ribbon. We covered the front door with brown wrapping paper with "the House of Smith". Her 2 younger brothers were on either side of the door in t-shirts with "House of Fagan" in paint marker, tied with a belt, to announce the Princess arrivals. We did make-up, hair, finger nails, decorated Hanes t-shirts, and made bead necklaces/bracelets for 1 1/2 hours. We put on our t-shirts (ball gowns) and walked to a party room across the street decorated in purple balloons, crepe paper, and rose dishes where the girls were introduced by big brother (on the karaoke machine) to the King (dad in a crown). The girls curtsied in front of the King and took their place at the table. Lunch menu: heart shaped cream cheese and strawberry jam sandwiches, sparkling apple cider in champagne glasses (disposable), grapes, cheese cubes, and potato chips. There was a small gift and glass of jelly beans at each place setting with a nameplate. Games: kiss the Prince (girls put on red lipstick, blindfolded and spinned, and tried to kiss a drawing made by big brother on brown wrapping paper taped to the window), musical nail polish (walk around the table and pick up a bottle of nail polish, one without is out), "Who Knows Rachel Best" (answers to questions written in paint markers on back of paper plates), and freeze music tag. The chocolate cake had purple flowers and a Princess on top with "Happy Birthday Princess Rachel." Then we went back to watch Anastasia. Party Favors: purple gift bags with a small mirror, lip gloss, sucker ring, sweet tart necklace, and a chocolate bar with "Thank you for coming to Princess Rachel's Birthday! (made on the computer). The girls all had a wonderful time and it was a grown up Princess party! Purchased: T-shirts, sequins, tacky glue, bead making kits, cake, and gift bags with gifts Cost: $60
