Princess Tea Party 3yr - Castle Entrance

Honorable Mention

Feb. 2004

Rachel in Wilmer, AL USA

For my daughter's 4th birthday party, we had someone come to our house for a "Pretty Princess Tea Party". The invitations, come from a coloring book, were a picture of a castle, I printed them on pink paper and they said, "Hear ye, hear ye! All the Princesses of the land.  Princess (guest name) you are invited to a royal tea party for girls (we chose to do girls only) to celebrate.......(the following was on the castle) Princess Holley's 4th birth year; (in the walk way of the castle it said) Date, time, address, RSVP, at the bottom I stated Your royal attire will be provided when you arrive! (that was the case for us).  I then rolled them like a scroll with pretty ribbon and shrunk a picture of a crown for the name tag to attach since the guest name was on the inside.  We decorated the outside of the house (the porch) just like a castle with an archway over the top and a draw bridge (that worked). One side of the drawbridge was painted like the castle, the other side had red carpet to walk up on. When you opened the door, we had sparkley red carpet rolled out to the table (we rented a round table and white chairs) where the children sat. We used a dining chair and deep purple satin material to make a throne for her to open her gifts, with a shiney silver material with silver stars on it above the chair. We decorated the dining room table with a blue shimmery material and used all crystal decorations.   We served multicolored Goldfish, conversation hearts, red and white grapes, mixed nuts and instead of cake or cupcakes I served pettit fours. The lady who come to our house, Pretty Princess Tea Parties, Cindy Brainerd, $125 for 8 children, provided all the china for the girls, tablecloth, a faux glass slipper with heart shaped candy wrapped in tool material (keepsake), sprite for the children, tea cookies.     Games: After they were dressed, she put on their princess make-up, they made a beaded bracelet and necklace (keepsake), took their picture (polaroid keepsake), they made a self adhesive heart frame (keepsake), their napkin ring holders were a dress up ring (keepsake), and find cinderella's slipper (dress up shoe) the child who found it got to keep it.     The children were well entertained for 2 hours and I could not have ever had a better party to remember for my daughter.  I would continue doing this party every year if she wished.
