As usual, I come here first for my party ideas. Thank you to the other Mom who listed a bunch of these creative ideas for the Disney CARS birthday party! Here's what we did . . . ***INVITATIONS***We made the invitations on plain white paper by dowloading one of the Disney CARS images (Mater) from the CARS website. We color copied them and put them in envelopes decorated with CARS stickers. They read: Race on over and don't be late, Zachary's turning 4 and, We have to celebrate, Hit the gas and drive to the (last name) Speedway, (address),  (date), (time), All to RSVP to the Crew Chief: Connie, (phone number), by (enter date). We also made return address labels that read: Crew Chief Zachary (last name, address, city, state, zip). And, address labels for each child we invited that read: Pit Crew (name, address, city, state, zip). Also, we sent an Evite.com for a Save the Date a week before the actual invitations went out. (PS: Make extra return address and guest address labels for the Thank You's).  *** DECORATIONS*** We made bday t-shirts for the birthday boy, his brother and his sister. Again, we downloaded some images from the CARS website, then went to Staples for the iron-on transfers. We created the shirts (each child had a different CARS character, then flipped the image so it prints backwards (you need to do this because when you flip it over to iron it on it will be the correct way)). They read: It's My 4th Birthday and  It's My Brother's 4th Birthday. We ordered a CARS bday Banner from BirthdayExpress.com for $14.99 (don't forget the Sharpies, so everyone can sign the banner). We found CARS Balloons from USBalloon.net (this is the most inexpensive way to order helium balloons -- then, either bring them to a party store to fill up or purchase a helium tank from Target). To re-create Radiator Springs in our backyard, we purchased Lightning McQueen & Doc Hudson 5 ft backdrops for the fence from Party City. Beneath them was a long roll of black and white checkered flag banner along the entire fence. We had two large black and white checkered flags in the front of the house (from Party City) and small black and white checkered flags along with side of the house (from Party City). I was on the hunt for every CARS poster ever made (some I found at WalMart, others the Disney Store, etc.), then had them laminated at the local teaching store to hang on the backyard fence. We found Mater party hats and placed them on the round tables, where the kids would eat their lunch/cake. Where the food was displayed, I purchased orange paper cold cups (from Party City), drew the Cozy Cone Motel on each of them, numbered each of them from 1-10, then cut a garage door and bent it backwards for the entrance. On the side of the house, we drew a dashed road with chalk leading people from the front (START) of the house to the backyard (FINISH). Here comes the fun part . . . we collected as many large boxes as we could and wrapped them in white butcher paper. Then, downloaded and printed all of the CARS characters (Lightning McQueen, Doc, Sally, Mater, Lizzy, Guido, Luigi, etc.) and brought the sheets to Staples to be color copied and enlarged. We glued the images on the front of the boxes and had them lined up along the fence (again, recreating Radiator Springs). The kids LOVED seeing all the characters! We had: The Cozy Cone Motel, Sarge's Surplus, Flo's V-8 Cafe, Ramone's House of Body Art and more! We had purchased the CARS wall stickers for my son's room, so I scanned the Low & Slow" license plate then used the image to create nametags for the kids and adults. I also called all the local movie theaters Blockbuster Hollywood Video and local video stores to see if they had any CARS standees or posters. I was lucky enough to get a few which I either laminated for the fence decor or used for the boxes.  ***ENTERTAINMENT*** We ordered a CARS bounce house for the front of the house. The kids would be in the bounce house for most of the day except for lunch and games! This was a big hit . . . and it knocks them out!  ***GAMES*** Here's a game tip instead of "winning" prizes let the kids know that their game prizes are in their goodie/favor bags. This saves on hurt feelings if someone does not "win" a game.  We had a few really fun games . . . 1.  Piston Cup Championship: Find two (2) pull-back cars then before the party cover a rectangular table with white butcher paper mark a dashed line and start/finish line with black tape or marker. We had the kids stand in two lines so they could race each other. (Instead of using pull-back cars we used Lightning McQueen and The King to race -- how appropriate). I stood at the end of the table and yelled On your mark Get Set Go . . . and they would push their car to the finish line. So no one got mad that they were not "Lightning each set of children got to take two turns -- once as each of the characters. 2.  Luigi's House of Tires -- Help Luigi move some tires around the shop! To play this game, we divided the children into two teams. We gave each team a car tire (or blow-up inner tube -- I was lucky enough to find black tire print" inner tubes from WalMart). We marked a Start and Finish lines with orange construction cones. The children needed to roll the tire from Start to Finish around the cones back to their team and pass the tire to the next player. The next player takes his/her turn and so on until all players have had a turn. Fastest team wins! (The kids LOVED to roll the tires. It was hysterical). 3. Ramone's House of Body Art -- Next to the box that had the image of Ramone's House of Body Art I sat at a table and "painted" their faces hands arms or feet. I had a cardboard display of pictures they could choose from (hearts stars moons flames snakes spiders etc. -- these were simple items that I could paint quickly since we had over 25 children). 4. Guido's Pit Row Race - Can you change a tire as fast as Guido? We made (2) racecars from large cardboard boxes (http://www.kidsdomain.com/craft/racecar1.html). Each of them had velcro wheels and velcro headlights (made from paper plates and disposable bowls) images of either Lightning McQueen or The King and a steering wheel (also made from a paper plate). I divided the kids into two teams then each child got into his/her "racecar" and help onto the sides. We used the orange construction cones again this time for the START and PIT STOP and had them: a. Change their tires (velcro four tires to car) make two sets of these b. Wash the window (with large sponge or rag) c. Pump Gas (we used small plastic funnels) d. Change their headlight (velcro plastic bowls) make two sets of these then race back to the Start line where the next child would get into the car and do the same thing! (My kids still have their "racecars"). 5. Pin the HOOD on Mater: I found a Mater poster (him all alone) so I had it laminated then made "hoods" out of brown grocery bags.  Using double-stick tape with each of the kids' names on the hoods we closed our eyes and took turns Pinning the Hoods on Mater!  *** FOOD/SNACKS*** Near the food table we had a sign that said Pit Stop and Flo's V-8 Cafe Help Yourself! We had popcorn/pretzels/cotton candy on all the tables and this year instead of making all the food I spent my time re-creating Radiator Springs so we ordered pizza for everyone (this was great -- it's also round like a wheel)! For drinks we had: Apple Juice: (Dinoco Oil) Green Gatorade (ANTI FREEZE) Grape Juice (MOTOR OIL) and of course Filmore's Organic Fuel (Water). We purchased some red napkins and some CARS napkins some red plate and some CARS plates a few CARS tablecloths and some red tablecloths (this cuts down on the cost) -- all from either Party City or WalMart (96 cents for the plain colored items). Don't forget your bathroom! We decorated the mirrors with the CARS wall stickers and had red disposable towels for all the kids with dirty hands! ***CAKE/GOODIES*** This was a lot of fun and was well-received by the guests . . . I made 48 cucpcakes in CARS cupcake cups frosted them white and added an Oreo with a yellow M&M (wheel/hubcap) to each one. Then I printed the CARS character stickers from the Disney CARS website attached a toothpick to the back of the stickers and stuck them into the cupcakes! They looked adorable! (It's always easier to make cupcakes for the kids because they are so excited for "cake" that they do not want to wait for a large cake to be cut). However for the birthday boy to blow out candles on . . . I made a 13x9 cake and frosted it white. Then took a frozen pound cake and sliced off a portion of one end to look like a windshield and hood of Lightning McQueen. I frosted the pound cake red used yellow M&Ms for the headlights Oreos for the wheels black decorator gel for the outline of the windshield number 95 and eyes. I took white frosting and placed it in a Ziplock bag with the tip cut off to pipe in a white windshield eyes and accessories. I used blue decorator gel for Lightning's eyes. Then using chocolate mini donuts (tires) and wooden skewers I created the Leaning Tower of Tires at Casa Della Tires on the corners of the 13x9 cake. Then placed "Lightning" in the middle!. It's a lot easier than it sounds! ***MUSIC/TV*** Of course we played the CARS soundtrack over and over again in the backyard and had the CARS DVD playing in the living room for people who wanted to get away from the bounce house or the backyard!  ***FAVORS*** We purchased confetti-styled cellophane bags from a craft store and found large CARS plastic cups from WalMart. We filled them with CARS stickers pull-back cars scented bubbles and Airheads.  This was another GREAT party! Some of the parents have been to our outrageous parties others were there for the first time. We received a lot of compliments . . . the best ones from my kids -- which is why we do this over and over and over! I can't wait for the next party!!!  "
