this was for my sons 5th birthday. we had a rescue hero theme with the family room dripping with red and yellow streamers and balloons. Also there were huge Billy Blazes balloons. the furniture was all moved out with only three long tables in the room covered with rescue hero table covers.  the center pieces I made by putting clay in the bottom of a rescue hero cup and attaching yellow, red and blue birthday hats that I made to lollie pop sticks and arranging them like flowers. the kids names were on the home made birthday hats along with fuzzy balls to add a clownish theme to the hats. the colours all matched the rescue hero theme. All kids were giving fire hats when the arrived and a pictures was taken with the birthday boy.  so all kids went home with a poloriod picture of themselves at the party.   the kids played a traditional round of pin the tail on the donkey and then went racing around the house looking for all the hidden rescure heros.  once they were all found the kids were reassembled in the family room and they paired off into groups of threes.  there were three taskes to preform...one they made sun visors out prefabed foam board visors and then I pre sorted their names and sports foam board things for them to put on their hats. then the groups switched and one group when and smashed hard candies to make into homemade lollie pops. the kids choose their own candies and then smashed them in a plastic bag and then arranged them in a mold which we cooked while they were have a little free play time.  then the groups switched again and the 1st group went to make their own pizzas.  after all three tasks were complete they were free to play downstairs with all the resque hero guys and watch the rescue hero movie. (supervised) after about 10 minutes of play they all came back upstairs to their assigned seats and then ate their own pizzas. they loved all the activities and moving from one thing to another kept them all busy. then we had cake and opened presents and then they went home..
