For my daughters 1st Birthday we decided to have a rubber ducky party since "quack quack" is one of the first words she said.  I ordered invitations online that had ducks on them. The invite read Splish Splash its xxx first birthday bash. Date, time, and place followed.  It also read to give us a quack if you could come.  As guest arrived they were greeted by a huge wooden rubber duck that we had in the front yard as well as blue and yellow balloons everywhere. The children played pick-a-duck game with prizes that included bath squirt toys, waterworms, and beach balls. We also had a pull string pinata shaped as a duck loaded with candy. The children collected their candy and put it in plastic rubber duck bags.  The cake was ordered from a local bakery and was a 3-D duck sitting in a tub with frosting bubbles all over. We had cupcakes for the kids with rubber duck rings on top and also jello jigglers shaped as ducks.  I ordered plates and napkins online that were blue and yellow with a rubber duck on them. I went to a craft store and bought yellow fun foam visors added an orange foam beak and big google eyes.  The kids loved them.  For goody bags my mother-in-law made cloth bags and embroidered a duck on the front they also had each childs name embroidered on it. Each bag had favors in it depending on the childs age that included rubber duck books, bubbles, duck keychains, duck pens, Splish splash cd by Seasame Street, duck whistles, flip ducks and of course a rubber duck.  The older children went swimming in the pool that had a ton of ducks floating in it. We set up the kiddie pool for the toddlers to splash around in.  I bought a picture frame with a mat that everyone could sign with well wishes for my daughter.  A picture of her from the party went in the middle and this will be hung in her room. I bought a white shirt and ironed on a big rubber duck decal for her to wear at the party. As the adults were leaving each was given a clear bag with two yellow chocolate ducks I had made from a candy mold. The tag on the bag read "Having friends and family like you has made my 1st year just ducky.  Thanks for coming to my party." Everyone loved it. I ordered thank you cards with ducks on them and a place to slip a picture of the birthday girl on her big day.  We had beautiful weather and a great time!
