Rubber Ducky Party- 1 Year Old My son turned one in the middle of the summer and LOVES rubber duckies. We had a rubber ducky themed party for him. A friend did the invitations on her computer for me with beige cardstock and a photo of a rubber ducky that she downloaded from the internet.  Wording on front: Splish Splash We're Having a Bash. Wording inside in addition to the details included things like "give us a quack to let us know if you are able to make it" and location of party at "The Thorpe's Pond" with our address. I waited too long to order ducky-themed paper products so I ended up getting solid blue and yellow paper plates and napkins and balloons. I found a piece of fabric at the local fabric store that was printed to look like rippling water. I cut a square and finished the edges and used it as an overlay on a white table cloth, making it look like a pond.  I then took all of our rubber duckies (8) AND the little ducks from the Duck Pond preschool game and put them "in the water" on the table around the birthday cake.  I made the cake using a duck pattern from a cake decorating book-- it was a big hit! (Used a large 16" cake pan, two boxed mixes, cut the circular cake into pieces as in the pattern in the book, arranged the pieces on a cakeboard to look like a waddling duck, iced the cake with homemade icing which I colored pale yellow and pale orange, used a junior mint for the eye).  Played bathtime CD's for background music.  The weather was hot, so we had all the kids bring swimgear for "splash day" in our yard-- we set up the sprinkler for the 3-5 year olds and two baby pools for the babies. What a blast they all had, and we got some great pictures!  I bought beach buckets at the dollar store and used 3-D acrylic paint to write each child's name on the outside of a bucket-- this was the "goody bag."  Each bucket was filled with items from the dollar store which included a rubber ducky and bubble stuff for each child. The babies also got a bath mit, and the older kids each got a pair of goggles and a squirt toy.  Each child also received a bar of glycerin soap that a friend made-- complete with a soap ducky inside the bar of soap.  We also had 2 pre-teen nieces attend the party-- their "Goody buckets" were plastic bath totes with hair and bath accessories, a rubber ducky and rubber ducky soap. It was a great party-- the outside "splash fun" really made it easy for the kids to be successful!
