Rubber Duckie!
For my son's first birthday, we did a rubber duckie theme. I ordered the plates, napkins, party hats, etc., from Birthday Express. Then, I bought yellow plastic table coverings, blue and yellow balloons and streamers to coordinate. I used a huge punch bowl and filled it with Hawaiin punch (the blue kind) so that it looked like water. I then placed several small rubber ducks in it to float around on the "pond". The kids loved that! I bought a duck cookie cutter and used it to cut frozen cookie dough. I made peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and then also cut them into ducks using the cookie cutter. TOO cute. I filled two small plastic baskets with Chex mix and labled them "duck feed". The cake I had made at a bakery. It looked like sand and water and had a rubber duck on it as well. Since this party was for little kids, I kept the games simple. I had a large sheet of blue paper and I laminated yellow ducks. The kids got to be blindfolded (or not) and stick the ducks on the pond and then claim a prize. I also used a game I already had. It looks like a pond and the plastic ducks go around. Each of the ducks have a colored circle on the bottom. I used brown sandwich bags and filled them with treats. When the child picked up a duck, he or she got to choose a bag that had that color circle on it. Everyone gets a prize at my parties!! During the party, we played the Rubber Duckie song that Ernie on Sesame Street sings. The kids had a wonderful time!!
