For my daughter's first birthday party we decided to do a duck theme, because she just loved little yellow ducks. We made blue punch using 7-Up and blue Kool-Aid.
We put it in a big punch bowl and had mini rubber ducks floating in it. My mother made a large sheet cake and frosted it to look like a pond. We bought rubber duck candles for the top. For my daughter's cake, my mother made a round cake and frosted it yellow. Then we bought large googly eyes and a duck billed shaped noise maker for his bill. For the kids at the party we had cupcakes that were frosted to look like bubbles. In the center of each cupcake was a duck used from the game Lucky Ducks. I bought plain yellow hats and duck stickers to decorate them. I bought plain yellow loot bags and bought rubber ducky bubble necklaces, sunglasses, whistles, and straws to put in them. The invitations were of a duck in a field by a pond and inside was a picture of my daughter in the bathtub. I even bought ducky thank you cards and cups and plates and napkins. Then we scanned the picture on the napkins and made a birthday banner to match. It was a very cute, fun and successful party!
