THEME: Ducky Luau  INVITES: Using shutterfly.com I took a picture of my son in the bath with his ducks.  The wording said Splish Splash! It's Zane's Birthday Bash! Have some good clean fun now that's Zane's turning one! Waddle over to the ---- pond for some ducky food and get your feathers wet. Wear your ducky duds!"  DECOR and FOOD: As you walked up there were tiki torches and leis.  The door was covered with a ducky luau sign with Zane's name on it.  We had a duck pull pinata hanging on our front porch.  When you walked into the door we had a cake table with blue and yellow crepe paper loads of balloons and confetti.  I made the 3D duck cake using a cake pan I'd purchased. We made 72 cupcakes and used duck luau suckers as toppers.  We had beach towels rolled up and lots of rubber ducks. Orientaltrading.com has a duck luau set you can purchase. We covered the island with blue and green butcher paper. We made a paper pond and used that to put the food and punch on. The punch was blue and had "very clean" ducks swimming in it.  We had a matching blue pitcher with yellow lemonade in it. We'd frozen the Hawaiian punch and lemonade beforehand so we didn't have to buy ice. We had some juice boxes and cokes in coolers for the older kids and adults.  In the freezer we had frozen ice pops since it was a hot July day.  The food was relatively inexpensive for 60 people. I purchased lunchmeat at the deli and had them cut it thin and in half.  I bought the cheapest bread and used a duck shaped cookie cutter to cut the bread.  I left the lunchmeat cheese and bread out for others to put their sandwhiches together.  We had some fruit cheese and chips. We used sand pails for trail mix.  One was labeled "Ducky Feed" and the other which was only Cheerios was "Baby Duck Feed."  I left the plastic shovels in there as serving utensils. Zane's highchair was decorated with ducks and balloons and we put a blue tablecloth under it so he could make a big mess! Everyone received a lei when they walked in. I had a slideshow of Zane playing on t.v. and duck related songs playing. The backyard was fun too! The pool we bought was the same blue and we filled it with even more duckies. We also had a small bounce house.  FAVORS: Using a cellophane bag I put one duck a small Johnson's baby shampoo stickers a yellow or blue washcloth rolled up and bubbles.  They also put their pinata candy in their bags."
