I am currently planning a Rubber Ducky birthday party for my daughter who loves ducks and will be turning 2 this coming July.  I have made my own invitations which have a water border across the bottom of the front of the card and a rubber ducky shape on the water. The wording I used is "Splish Splash (on the front), we're having a bash!  Rubber Ducky and all his friends will be there and you're invited too!  Please come and help us celebrate Savannah's 2nd birthday on July 5th, 2003 at 4:00pm. So waddle on over to the Wyks pond at blank address.  Give us a quack at blank phone number to let us know if you'll be able to attend (on the inside). I decorated the evelopes using rubber stamps of rubber duckies and balloons in blue and yellow ink. For the food we will be having a cook-out with hamburgers, hotdogs, etc.  We will be having punch with rubber duckies floating in it and duck feed (chex mix) served in metal tubs.  I ordered paper products from an on-line party store that has rubber duckies and bubbles on them.  For decorations we will have lots of balloons and will use alot of Savannah's rubber ducks around the table.  Outside we will have a kiddie pool set up with rubber ducks floating in it for the kids to play with. The cake is going to be a big rubber duckie (using the Wilton rubber ducky 3d pan) sitting on a pond of blue water.  I also made ice cream cups using scoops of ice cream rolled in wilton duckie sprinkles and served in wilton rubber duckie paper cake cups. For the children's favors I have made little bath buckets using small metal pails on which I decorated with yellow wooden ducks and then personalized each with the child's name with a paint pen.  Inside I am filling them each with bath products including a duck bath mit, duckie bath fizzies, and of course a rubber duckie. On each I have tied a small tag with the words "Rub-a-dub-dub, have fun in the tub"  For the adults in attendence I made magnetic picture frames with a photo inside of Savannah and a big Rubber Duck.  I decorated the frames using small wooden yellow ducks and the words "Being 2 is just ducky!".  I wrapped these frames in wilton ducky bags and tied with ribbon.  Also, for everyone I have small bottles of party bubbles with the phrase "We're bubbling with joy because Savannah is 2" tied to each one. For Savannah's gifts I am wrapping them with blue paper and tying them with yellow ribbon that has ducks on it.  For the tags, I have painted wooden ducks yellow and then personalized them with her name on each. During the party, we will be playing bath music using the Seasame Street bath time CD and another bath time CD purchased at Hallmark.  For the front door I have made a wreath with yellow wooden ducks on it, 5 of them, 1 with the words "The Wyks Pond" on it and the other 4 with the names of the 4 people in our family.  I added a yellow ribbon that has rubber ducks on it to finish the wreath.  There will also be a balloon bouquet tied to the mailbox with a large duck balloon and then several colored balloons to coordinate. For the thank-you notes, I have desgined a small folding note card with a yellow duck border around the front and her name in the center with the inside blank to handwrite a personal thank-you note. I even added a duck clip art image to my computer address labels to print out to address both the invitations and thank-you notes. It should be quite a birthday to remember.
