Rubber Ducky for 1-yr olds: For my daughter's first birthday we chose a "Rubber Ducky" theme since it was her favorite toy at the time. I found a duck shape and cut out
the invitations. The top layer was yellow on which I glued an orange beak that stuck up, googly eyes and a wing (made out of the same yellow paper) that was folded accordion style.
Then I mounted the duck on blue paper, also shaped like a duck but slightly larger than the yellow duck. On the inside I glued the information which I printed out on my computer on white paper and then cut out with pinking shears. They said: Waddle on over and help us celebrate _____'s First Birthday! (Then the info for the party) Everyone loved the invitations! For decorations I got blue table cloths and cut a sponge so that it was shaped like a duck. I dipped the sponge in yellow paint and stamped them all over the table cloths. Then I got several blow up pools for the kids to play in and floated some ducks in them. I also used the rubber duckies to decorate the center of the tables. I found some smaller rubber duckies and floated them in the punch. The cake had light blue frosting and duck shaped sugar cookies that were decorated with frosting. It was cute and everyone had a great time.
