My son was turning four and I wanted to throw a great party for him.
I always have a lot of guest so I had to do it in a large scale. I had more than 80 guest, my house and yard accomadates these guest so we decided to have it at home. It was held on the fourth of July since my son's birthday is on the 2nd of july. Invitations: I made personalized invitations through shutterfly" I picked the Diego Invitation and put my son's picture and the Inviation read..."Friends of the jungle have gathered to say please join us in celebrating Anishka's fourth birthday". I also put the adress along with the name "Adventure Camp" and also mentioned to RSVP to Zoo Keepers. Decorations: I had a poster done through staples saying "hop on board the safari truck to have a great time at "Anishka's Safari Adventure" featuring Diego and friends. I also included a safari truck with loads of animals. The poster was mounted on an eisle near the entrance with Diego character baloons. For decorations I bought beach balls with safari print and animals from oriental trading and blew them and hang them from strings (these were given to kids later on as favors) I also bought 100 safari print ballons and blew them all up as well (Oriental trading). I got a banner through Ebay saying "Safari Adventure" and hang that up along with beach balls to look like lanterns. I also dressed the tsir case with Green orange and yellow Diego theme baloons as well. Cake: I had a diego cake with loads of animals and I also had a cup cake tower with Diego and Jaguar characters. I got the cup cake toppers rings from a local party store and the local bakery did the cup cakes with grass looking icing. The kids had a blast. Games: I had musical chairs that I named as jungle chairs I also did a "guess who I am" game I did different animals and laminated them and it was hung on the backs of the kids they had to go around and ask for clues to guess who they were. I also had "animal cracker guessing game" to guess how many animals Diego rescued. For this I bout animal crackers and counted them and ask the guest to guess how many was in the jar. I also had a Diego pinata and an entertainer who did jungle them songs and activities including animal baloons and bubbles. We also had a junlge gym in the back plus rented a bouncy castle for the kids to play. There were graet jungle tunes playing at the party the whole time. Food: I did a big hot dog stand that read "hippo dogs with safari sauce" and other foods that was typical from Sri Lanka but named them with junlge theme names. I also made a punch and said it was "Monkey Punch". I had appetizers first since the party started at 2.30 and then had an early dinner (buffet style) around 6.30 p.m. All of the kids were greeted and they all got straw hats with jungle print band and safari sunglasses (oreintal trading) they also got junlge theme bags with animal crackers. They also got a button with a different animal so that they could pretend play to be that animal for the day. When the kids were leaving I had custom made a clinch bag that said " I had a wild time at Anishka's Safari Adventure" with a monkey hanging from it. The kids could use this cloth bag for swimming or library. The kids had a a great time. Since it was the 4th we ended the party with fire works. Overall there was a lot of planning (one month) and I did all the cooking as well. For thank you notes I will send a picture card with different shots that I took at the party. All my friends left in awe since there were so many details and most of all there kids were entertained the whole time. "
