For my son's 1st birthday, I decided to have a safari party since he loves animals. Setting - a park with lots of trees. Color scheme - Green and Orange. Decorations - Fake vines hanging from
the trees, green and orange tablecloths, grass hula skirts lining the tables, animal print balloons tied in a row to a string hung as an arch for an entrance way, cut outs of jungle animals
from an old calendar pinned on trees and glued on stakes throughout the area. Entertainment - I hired entertainers that brought small animals (mostly for the older kids at the party), my
husband set up a face painting booth and painted animal faces on the kid's faces as they came, my sister set up a balloon animal booth and made balloon animals (she practiced a few days prior
to the event). Games - Animal Hunt: I hid small plastic animal around the picnic area before guests arrived. The kids were on a safari trying to catch as many animals as the can. The girl and
boy who found the most animals won. Animal call: I gathered the kids into one area and whispered the name of an animal to each of them making sure that each animal was doubled. Then the kids
had to find their animal partner by making the sounds of the animal they were assigned to. The pair that found each other first won. Gift Bags - Canteens made from small milk cartons covered
in army green construction paper and thick black ribbon for the sling. Inside was candy and various small animal related toys. The kids had fun and the adults enjoyed the setting. The party
was a blast!
