my soon to be 9 year old friend recently had a litter of puppies. She had asked me to do her games for her birthday party. This is what I came up with.  Sign in; lifesize portrait of Rebbicca, the birthday girl, drawn on waxed paper, with her laying down on the paper & tracing her form. Hanging on the wall for everyone to sign. Also a table is set up with a jar of dog biscuits, a pen & paper with wrote on it "guess how many" for a prize given later, when we see whose guess was the closest.  Introduction & story to follow; Poem, followed by my story. Rebbicca has lost her dog! I beleive she is having puppies! can you help me find Rebbicca's puppies? Everyone gets a headband with dog ears and a face painting to look like a puppy. you are now one of Rebbicca's puppies. Before we look for the dog, we may need a collar, in case hers broke. so we make collars with beads and leather, which is actually a choker for them, they may take them home. Scavenger hunt; Now we must find clues where we can find the dogs. Hey, we could look for paw prints. Easily done with black construction paper. you could have a clue with your beads, because we needa collar to catch her. I made sugar cookies and cut out dog bone shapes. we need a bicuit to catch her, so the kids get a snack with the cookie and a clue. I use smiley napkins and plates so everyone had to find a smile to take because we knew if we found puppies we would have lots of smiles. with all the clues leading to the barn (bedroom)   Now the obstacle course to find the puppies!  Okay kids, it's kinda rainy outside, so try not to get muddy. Let's find rebbicca's puppies! Walking outside (actually inside, it's janurary) I spay a mist of water (from spray bottle) for the affect. I cut mudholes out of brown bags they crawl over them and find paw prints. clues! leading down to the pond by the barn. Deciding to fish, we had a sheet set up and a pole to fish for a prize and a clue, leading to the barn, Bedroom, where the puppies are. Now the have to change, because they're muddy. Which goes into a timed event. You use too big clothes, sweats,socks,shoes,...blindfolded. enjoy the giggles. also jello eating contest. her dogs nsame is red jello...
