Girls 8-up Treasure Hunt - Hunt for your dreams This is a treasure hunt with a twist. Best for a smaller party, the girls first have to take a map card and find the treasure
location.
Each location has a special activity card with an activity on it. All the girls have to do the activity before they can get the next map card. We had different locations including: a tree in the front yard, the mailbox, the hostess's pillow, the DVD player, the piano, a sandbox. At each location, the girls had to share something personal. At the tree, they recited a poem (even roses are red etc) to the tree. At the bedroom pillow, they all shared a dream; at the DVD player they all named their favorite movie. At the piano, they played a little melody (even a few notes), and at the sandbox, they wrote a message in the sand. Finally, the last place was the mailbox, where there were blank postcards and pens and they sat down and wrote notes to each other (to be mailed later by the hostess' mom), and turned in their note to get their prize. (To make sure every girl gets a note, the mom could hand out the notes each addressed with a different girl's name and address, and you write to the girl you get at random). What worked so well about this idea was it gave the girls a structure, the idea of a hunt, and also a chance to share where everyone would be listened to and everyone could contribute. Allow a lot of time for this - but the girls will really enjoy it!
