Last year for my 11th birthday party I decided it would be fun to take my friends to our local mall and have a scavenger hunt. I have 11 people so the teams were a little uneven...5 and 6. But what I did was made a list that had 5 things that you would need to buy with 10 dollars. So you needed to have some money sense. Examples would be some kind of frog.  and you had to find something that was a frog...BUT it couldn't be junky! It had to be something that one of the girls would want to keep.  And another example would be an item that said "whatever" on it...which also could not be junky but something a girl would want to keep. Then, on the list also were 10 things that you could find for free in the shops like for example, a business card, a application sheet (to apply for a job at that store), a plastic bag from the store, and so on. Some things would acquire asking an employee for it. When the first team got done they would walk calmly back to the meeting place (suggested food court) and wait for the other team to come back.  The losing team had to go into The Buckle and ask an employee where the food court was...which was across from the buckle.  Each person got to keep one of the things they had bought from the scavenger hunt, and one of the free things as a memory of the party. Not only is that party still talked about by my friends, (in other words a great hit), it also taught us how to have money sense because you had to make sure you didn't spend 6.00 on one item leaving four dollars left for the other four items.
