This birthday party idea was given to me for my 13th birthday. My friends and I had a blast! First, my mom picked all of my friends up. She then drove us all over to Wal-Mart (you can use any
store, Target for example). She divided us into 2 teams. Each team got a blue basket and it was put on either side of my mom. Then my mom got out a bowl with 10 clues in it. When she said
"go!" one member of each team grabbed a clue from the bowl. The clues are things that describe something in the store, that the team needs to find. For example, one clue could be
"The commercial I'm in has twins. And I'm also made of mint. You might find me in the candy department" for Doublement Gum. The teams get one object at a time and then put in their
baskets. They continue to do so until one team reaches 5 items. If every thing in their baskets matches the clues, then that team wins, if not then the team, that didn't get done first, wins.
There are also other scavenger hunt games you can play at big department stores. After the Wal-Mart thing, my mom brought us to a Mary Kay consultant's house where the lady had set up snacks
and other goodies, along with make up (the girls were asked before hand to bring money if they wanted to buy make-up). The Mary Kay consultant did our make up and gave us tips on how to put
it on. Then, we finally went back to my house, where my parents had put up a volleyball net. We played volleyball and had a cook-out. A few of the girls stayed the night. I highly recommend
this birthday, it's cheap AND fun!
