Scavenger Hunt: For my best friend's birthday, I gave everyone we know little rhyming clues and made them wait at special locations all over town. She had to drive around all day getting clues and Polaroid picture hints from all her friends. We ended up at my house where everyone that participated, plus others, were waiting to surprise her. Here's the clincher: I gave everyone an item that she had to retrieve; and at the end, she had to have them all to get into the party. Some of the items were fun, i.e. her cake, her presents. Others were pure evil, i.e. embarrassing baby pictures. The party was a blast and it was especially fun making her work so hard to get there.
