For my daughters 9th birthday I had a mad scientist party. The invites were a compoter picture of a test tube with a ll the party info in it. As the guest walked in to the door there was a
sign welcome to (my daughters name " mad lab. It had a alien looking guy I drew and was in fun colors.
I had testtubes filled with water, oil and food color, some filled with corn syrup all had bugs in them(bought at the $store) the kids had fun shacking them up and seeing what happened. There was a birthday poster to sign I made it out of \*\*\*\*\*'s mad lab this was a nice way for my daughter to remember who attended. We played pin the test tube on the mad scientest. We made 2 typs of goop. One made with syarch, glue and water (food color if you want)this one was a blast I gave straws out so the kids could blow bubbles and gave everyone a ziplock bag to put it in. And one with water and corn starch. We made exploding test tubes( for this I bought tall plastic bottles) fill with baking soda and vinigar. We did a few other small science experiments depending on the age and how many kids you have the possablities are endless. Science web sights gave me alot of ideas. The kid cococtions books did also. As party favors they all got a bag filled with test tube candy (these were hard to find and expensive, I ended up getting them ata video store) poprock candy some small toys and best of all a mad scientist spell book which had all the activities we did plus some we did not do. The cake of course a test tube- we just made a regular cake and drew with frosting the test tube use colored sugar to give a mad scientist look for bubbles comming out. The party took more time and $ than I had planned and was very messy but the payoff was all the kids and parents were talking for mounths about it and looking forward to my daughters next theme party.
