Science Birthday party!    We had a science party for my son's 7th birthday.  As each child arrived I personalized a pair of safety glasses with colored sharpie markers.  We got the saftey glasses from a local saftey equipment store.  Then we got to the experiments! We had several stations set up. First, we did the egg into a milk bottle trick.  The hard boiled egg gets "sucked" into the bottle with a loud pop!!  Second, we demonstrated a kid sized hovercraft that I found on the web.  Just big enough to hold one child at a time, they could scoot back and forth on a piece of linoleum.  Third, and probably the most fun they had, was the seltzer rockets! Easy to find on the web. Baking soda, vinegar, and film canisters!  Kapow!!!! The film canisters are in ready supply at any photo studio.  Just call and they will set aside a whole bag full!   Then came time for the cake! We did a volcano cake with chocolate syrup lava!  Plastic tubing and brand new bilge pump.  Quite eventful!   The whole day was a blast...literally! It required several adults to help with the stations, but even they had a great time!    I don't know how I am going to top this one for his 8th birthday!
