For my daughters 8th birthday we had a Mad Scientist Birthday Party Theme. My daughter loves science so I went all out to make this an awesome Science party. The invitations were those bought
and supplied from the Mad Scientist company. I added a couple tweeks with the wording such as place: Sidney's Science Lab and RSVP to Mad Scientist Mom. The party began at 3:00 and ended at
5:15pm. The first hour was food, cake and gifts and the last hour was when the scientist performed. The decorations were bright colored streamers, table covers and ballons (lime
green, purple, yellow, black) the colors that were on the invitation. The room looked as if it was an explosion of color. The food was all science themed. I have a chocolate fountain and I used
white chocolate and colored it lime green to appear as slime. The kids loved this I had many options for them to dip the chocolate in such as oranges, apples, grapes, vanilla wafers, graham
sticks, pretzels and marshmallows. I made lime green and purple jello in petri dishes with gummy worms and gobstopers in them to appear as a science experiment in the petri dish. I wrapped pbj
star shaped sandwiches in wax paper each with a neon yellow lable staying Caution this may have been exposed to Radiation". I also had a bowl of chips and dip for the kids to snack on. I
had many beakers and cylinders on the table filled w/ kool aid to appear again as part of a science experiment. I made a seperate Chemistry drink station for the kids. I bought adult test
tube shooters and of course dumped the shooters out washed the test tubes and filled them with bright colored kool aid and covered the test tube insert box w/ colored streemers (to cover the
shooter logo)to match the party colors. I placed 2 liters of clear soda with clear plastic cups and many droppers so the kids could creat their own chemistry drink. They had a ball with this
and they were very careful(Surprise). The cake was a hugh beaker shaped cake with the appearence of lime green potion bubbling out of the beaker and 8 ml for my daughters 8th b-day. After the
kids ate I had the children get dressed in their Mad science attire. I made bow ties out of construction paper and used mini paper clips to clip on the kids shirts.I also purshased disposable
lab coats and eye goggles for all of the children to wear and lastley they all had a mad scientist name tag that said mad scientist and the childs name. They looked so great and they
all loved it. I did alot of research looking for the goggles and lab coats but I found them very cheap each of about a dollar a piece. The kids enjoyed the Mad scientist and about 13
experiments for an hour and 15 min. It was really a great party. The kids all went home w/ their lab coats and goggles along with a goodie bag. The goodie bags were lime green tied w/ black
and purple ribbon. I purchased a science book mark craftmad science labortory sticker sheetmagnigfing classsand timer all from oriental trader to put in each goodie bag. I also ordered test
tubes from oriental trader and filled them with bubble bath and labled them Sidney's bubbling potion.(I made sure all the parents knew it was bubble bath) The last thing I put in the bags was
a copy of a simple science experiment instruction sheet for them to try at home. This was indeed an awesome party."
