Every year I plan and execute my nieces & nephews birthday party. This year my niece decided to have an 8 year old Groovy Scooby Doo Birthday Party. I have provided you with two of
the games I made up for this party which the kids had so much fun with.
I personally enjoy having parties at home instead of going out bowling, laser tag etc... In planning the Groovy Scooby Doo Birthday Party, I always like to do games and crafts relating to the theme. There were 12 girls at the party. Game 1 - Mystery puzzle game Purchased: one Groovy Scooby Doo large gift bag, one bag of 24 small/thin wooden hearts, 2 bags of balloons (one color for each team. Preparation: cut the gift back in two (to have the two main picture), glued each one on a separate piece of oaktag and began cutting out pieces to represent a puzzle. (I then had two puzzles) Next on each puzzle, I placed a number (1-12)on the back of each puzzle piece. I then took the wooden heart, placed the numbers 1 - 12 (two sets), took a ballon, placed the heart in the colored balloon, blew it up and we were ready for the game. This makes enough for each child to go twice. The GAME: You should know have two bags of balloons (12 of each color, with the heart numbers 1- 12 inside of them. When I said go, one person would run to the bag of balloons, take one out, pop it, take the number heart, hand it to the captian (parent), captian will provide them with the puzzle piece associated with the number on the heart, put the puzzle piece where it belongs, tag the next person in line and the process begins all over again. The first one to complete the puzzle wins. Game 2 - Scooby Snack Game Purchased - you can purchase any kind of snack you wanted, I chose to purchase a small keychain with Scooby doo on it and inside were little candy bone treats. Preparation: Prior to the party, I took a bag, placed the scooby snacks inside(6 of them in each) and hid them. I then took a colored balloon and placed it at the location of the snack (I made sure I used a balloon color that was not included in the party ie., white, black, etc..) I then developed a fill in the blank puzzle along with a mystery chart. The mystery chart was A=1, B=2, C=3, etc.. until the end of the alphabet. I then established the morse code clue by putting in lines to represent the word and number underneath so they can figure out the letter associated with the number to figure out the clue i.e, "Find Scooby's Snack behind the white balloon" Once they all figure out the clue together, as a group, they then had to hold hands and go towards the white balloon, find the treat, bring it back to the table and obtain the prize - scooby snack.
