For my son's 3rd birthday party, we chose to do an overnight camping trip with a Scooby Doo theme. It was held at Flint Creek campground in Wiggins, Miss. The number of guests was limited to
just 5 due to sleeping space in our camper. I retrieved a great picture of the entire Scooby Doo gang off the internet, blew it up into poster size and made a big sign to put at the camp
site. The cups, plates, napkins, tablecloth, etc. all had the Scooby Doo theme. I minimized my expenses by doing a lot of additional decorations myself. I downloaded some great pictures and
then made them into banners and small posters to tack all over the trees.
With the same graphics, I made Scooby Doo name tags. I also blew up a big picture of Scooby Doo and colored it in with markers. Then I drew and cut out of card stock a picture of a bone. The children were then instructed to "Pin the Bone" in Scooby Doo's mouth. The goody bags were filled with Scooby Doo stickers, coloring book and a zip-lock bag of "Scooby Snacks" made out of chocolate chip cookie dough and cut with a dog bone shaped cookie cutter. We bought a generic round shaped piņata and pasted a Scooby Doo picture on it. In addition to the birthday games, the children also enjoyed swimming and a campfire roast. The finale was watching a Scooby Doo video as they fell asleep in their sleeping bags. We all enjoyed the party and slept soundly afterwards!
