Ice Skating (girl-age 5)
When my daughter was turning five, she wanted a skating party. Well, I don't like doing what everybody else does, so my girlfriend suggested ice skating. This was neat because many of the kids had never been ice skating before and they had a blast! The skating rink, located in a local shopping mall, provided the invitations. I had just purchased an ice skating Barbie, so I took it to my cake lady to have her set it on top of the birthday cake. I got soooo many compliments on this and my daughter was so surprised. I dressed my daughter in a really cute pink leotard w/matching skirt. She had on tights, tiara and a magic wand. I told her that she was princess of the ice that day. I also asked the other parents to dress the little girls especially in ice skating costumes (inexpensive, of course). We ate lots of pizza, cake and ice cream. When it was time for all to sing happy birthday, one of the staff members assisted her to the center of the rink and they asked everyone to clear the floor and sing happy birthday to my angel. She was so excited. People in the food court on the floor above even joined in.
