I'm planning my little sister's 10th birthday party, and I want it to be special.
iNViTATiONS: She is inviting 3 of her closest friends. We found some cute invitations at the $ store that have little make-up and nail polish on it. DECORATiONS: My sister's favorite colors are pink, light blue, and green. We got a pink plastic table cloth, blue plates, and green napkins and utensils. We will hang streamers around the table in the kitchen, on the bar, and on the stairs. GOODY BAGS: I'm putting this at the top because the girls will collect their goodies by completing each event/game. When the guests arrive, we will tell them about the goody bags, and how they have to keep their stuff in the bags. MUSiC: I'm going to take some songs from my iPod and from my CD's and burn them onto a seperate CD to play during games and while they talk. SCHEDULE: When the guests arrive, they will sit around and chat until everyone gets there. Then, I will take pictures of them with my digital camera and send it to the one hour photo at the pharmacy. While we are waiting for the pictures to get ready, the guests will make frames for the pictures (using paper frames, birthday stickers, and girlie stickers, like hair brushes, nail polish, make-up, ect.). The girls will then put thier frame into their bag. After the girls are finished with thier craft, I will give them a tour of the house (we will make little signs that my sister decorated that say "Bathroom" and "Ann's Room" and such. any doors that dont have a sign, guests are not allowed to come into.) we will then go up to the party room and play human knot (everyone stands in a circle with thier shoulders touching each others. they put one hand in the middle of the circle and grab someone else's hand, then put their other hand in the circle and grab a different person's hand. they have to untangle themselves. it requires going through arms and legs, so tell the guests they might be a little cramped. this game is fun and it is a great way to get the party started). The girls will get a mini puzzle to put in their bag. Then we will take the girls downstairs for dinner (domino's pizza) and dessert (vanilla confetti cupcakes with chocolate frosting and an 'A' painted on top in pink gel, then a pink candle on top -10 cupcakes in all-; vanilla ice cream in little bolws that the girls can top with chocolate sause, caramel, sprinkles, whipped cream, and a cherry), then open presents (everyone will sit in a circle and hold a gift. music will be playing, and they will pass the presents to the right until the music stops. whichever one the birthday girl is holding, she gets to open. then the girl who's present was opened steps out of the circle, and the game continues until every present has been opened). We will then ask the girls to get dressed in their PJ's. My best friend, Emilie, and I will do their nails, give them a facial, and do their make-up (nail polish and make-up from the dollar store, and we will make the facials out of fruit). the girls will get to keep the little bottle of nail polish that was used on their nails, and the make-up. then we will play musical sleeping bags (every girl (except the birthday girl) arranges their bags so they end up in a circle. ill play the music and they walk around on the sleeping bags. when the music stops, they have to get into the sleeping bag they are standing on. the girl left without a sleeping bag is out. the game keeps going until there is one person left). the girls will recieve a copy of the CD i burned for the party to put in their bag. Then I will put on a girly movie and let them watch it in their sleeping bags until they fall asleep (make sure to NOT play jokes on girls that fall asleep first. it hurts peoples feelings.) We will send them to bed before 1 am, so they aren't too tired. Emilie and I will take their goody bags and put some candy into them and tie a cute ribbon around the bag at the top (I did this for my party, and the girls used the ribbon for their hair...i just did it because it was cute, but they actually used it! Its a great finishing touch) and set them downstairs on the bar. We will then go into my room for a sleepover of our own after they all fall asleep! In the morning, everyone will wake up and we will go downstairs for breakfast (my parents will get donuts for us and the girls). The girls will go home around 10:30 am and as they walk out the door, we will explain the ribbon. Hopefully I gave you some great ideas! Good luck with your party!
