For my daughter's birthday she wanted a Clarissa explains it all party. Since this show isn't on TV anymore, for the invitations we downloaded the first episode of the show that we bought off
of iTunes to a DVD, and we put it in a case with a cover I made that said all of the necessary party information, with a picture of Melissa Joan Hart from when she was on the show. For
decorations we had the party in our unfinished addition to our house, so we could do more with it. Anyway, the decorations were pretty simple, we had pink and blue streamers, that represented
the colors of the Clarissa explains it all logo. I also enlarged the shows logo to make a banner, which also included a picture of her. We also had pink and blue balloons. For the table we
had our regular kitchen table with mismatched chairs just like in the show. We set up my daughter's room in a similar layout to Clarissa's. It's not really necessary for decorations to this
party, but we decided to get creative. When the party started we took everyone into my daughter's room where the party would start, by having everyone climb up a ladder into my daughter's
room, just like Sam on the show. My daughter greeted everyone then had them set up their sleeping bags. Then they made tshirts to wear to bed, and I also found shorts at Walmart on sale for a
dollar, so they decorated those too. When these dried the girls wore them for PJs. When that was out of the way, they all came downstairs and were taken to what would be Clarissa's dream....
We went out to the backyard where we had miscellaneous supplies for the kids to design their own car" (Clarissa's very vocal dream is to drive) we separated the girls into teams of two
and they had an hour to design their car. Some stuff we used were skateboards trycicles the things you put under cars to get underneath them old car seats duct tape and a few other things.
The rules were everyone must have something with wheels to work with you must wear a helmet when testing your vehicle and to HAVE FUN!! The cars turned out awesome and my daughter's team won
the race! Everyone that played got a "drivers licenese" and the winning team got rolls of peace sign pre wrap ( I think it was from claire's) Next we played a game called fergface
where the girls had to race through a series of obstacles ending with the chance to throw a pie(whipped cream on a pie plate) at an enlarged picture of Clarissa's brother Ferguson. Thenseeing
as it was about 8:00 we went inside to eat dinner which was chicken nuggets and salad and grapes. Then although this didn't really tie in with the theme the girls decided to workout to the
video Dance! Workout with Barbie. It's from the 90s anyway so we just went with it. Then as it was about 9:00 they played a game that my daughter frequently plays at her sleepovers and it
went with the theme because in the first episode Clarissa tries to get back at her brother by putting him in a straight jacket and attaching balloons to it so he will float away. Any way what
we did was my daughter and I blew up balloons that we had put colored stones into and we had each stone being worth a different point value. The catch was that the girls were handcuffed and
blindfolded! LOL so funny to watch! Then the girls all received one of the Clarissa VHSes I found on Amazon they were about $5 each and the girl with the most points got an additional $5
iTunes giftcard. Its probably a good idea to find out if all your guests still have a VHS player and if they don'tbuy one video and you can probably find someone who can transfer it to DVD
for you. Then the girls settled down to play the Clarissa explains it all game that I found at a thrift store for like 50c according to my daughter it was the funnest game she had ever
played. You can probably find this on the Internet somewhere it will be worth it! Then they got the news that "Aunt Mafalda" was coming and they needed to get somewhere safe. They
ran up to the attic (where I had told my daughter to take everyone) and when they got up there my husband decked out in a monster mask and one of my younger daughter's Hannah Montana wigs
jumped out from behind some old boxes and that was just the beginning! They ran downstairs and as pre-planed by my son had a bunch of "Creepy Crawlers" tumble down on them when they
came down no one has been in our attic since :-) they raced back to my daughter's room where they ate popcorn and watched of course Clarissa explains it all! In the morning we ate cereal
(unsugared- Clarissa's mom is a health freak) and fruit and by then the girls just wanted to jump on the trampoline and then their parents came. All in all it was a successful party it was
pretty hard to think of ideas but we made it and my daughter's friends are now completely hooked on Clarissa! The girls went home with pink bags that I found at a discount store filled with
everything the girls had collected from the games( a personalized drivers license pre wrap if their team won the car game the VHS and a $5 iTunes gift card if they won the balloon game
personalized t- shirts they made the shorts and lipgloss. It was a very successful party and only cost about $100 for the whole party and the girls had so much fun!"
