As a mother of three (2 girls and a boy) I always look for inexpensive, yet creative party ideas.  For my daughter's 10th birthday party, she asked for a sleepover party. My two sisters and I put our heads together and decided to make it a spa sleepover.  We invited four girls and my two daughters, which gave us a total of six. For the invitations, we used spa art that we found on the Internet. We chose aqua and white to be the color theme for the party. The I turned down all of our lights and lit scented candles. We put white and aqua tulle netting on the walls.   The parents didn't want to leave the rooms looked so nice. We used the same art work from the invitations to label each of the spa stations. My dining room was initially the craft area. For crafts, I ordered some really inexpensive plain canvas bags which the girls decorated with beads, glitter glue, paint, feathers, etc.  These later became their "goodie bags." We set up the kitchen area for manicures and pedicures and facials, while the family room (located next to the kitchen) became the massage area. The girls received their treatments in groups of two so there was no congestion.  My sisters and I manned each station and my mom took pictures of everyone getting all gussied up. The girls were then treated to paraffin manicures (My friend gave me a warm wax machine for my birthday the year before) and pedicures. They then got massages (my sister had an electronic massager) While treatments were dispensed, my husband cleared the craft table and set it for dinner. Aqua plates, cups, etc. were set on a white tablecloth. Iridescent Christmas ornaments were placed on the table to look like bubbles. The cake was the centerpiece. After nails were dry, they ate pizza and then cut the cake, which I had baked in a football cake pan and iced white to look like a bath tub. White fondant was rolled and placed around the edge of the cake to look like the rounded sides of the tub, blue and white gum balls made the bubbles.  I then put bought a doll on a pick pinned up her hair with a Barbie towel, and stuck it in our "tub".  My daughter then opened her gifts. Her favorite was the spa chair my sister bought for my daughter's American Girl doll. The girls watched a movie, ate snacks, and talked until the wee hours of the morning. While they slept, I filled each of their canvas "goodie bags" with travel size toothpaste, toothbrush, brush, deodorant, shower gel, lotion. lip gloss, eye glitter, candy lipstick, feathery pen, slippers (from the dollar store that we decorated with beads), and a shower wrap (purchased at a store that was going out of business for a dollar each) and shampoo/conditioner. The total cost of each bag was less than $10 including the cost of the bag itself! I wrote up a breakfast menu on a dry erase board and they had their choice of cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, waffles, etc.  In the morning, the girls were given their filled canvas goodie bags and couldn't wait to use their products. Teeth were brushed, showers were taken, hair was washed, dried and brushed, wraps were worn. At pickup time, all of the parents were surprised to find their kids bathed, dressed and shampooed. My daughter and her friends loved their evening at the "Spa." The parents have asked me to plan a spa party for the adults!
